fafa
hi i want to design an audio amplifier.i plan to use two CE stages for amplificationand a class AB-output stage with darlinton connection.first of all which bjt's or fet ic's should i use.also is there some ic which has class ab output stage and a darlinton connection in one. audioguru
Hi Fafa,Most audio power amplifier IC's use a class AB output stage and darlington configured output transistors. Very high quality IC's are the LM3875 and LM3886 by National Semiconductor.Philips also has many audio power amplifier IC's:http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/markets/mms/products/analog/key_solutions/amplifiers/index.html ;D
prateeksikka
hi audioguru!in this case too we dont need impedance matching infact we need max. voltage transfer.right? ;D what is the diff b/w RF and audio in that case i.e why no standing waves?is it known ? David Bridgen
Standing waves occur along a transmission line.
prateeksikka
hi david !thanks for the answer .anyway can u tell me what is the deciding factor for us to tell if we require maximum power transfer or maximum voltage transfer as say in case of audio amp we go for max.voltage transfer while for RF amp we go for max power transfer? ???thanks in advance
fafa
can i get a designed amplifier somewhere with all the calaculations regarding capacitors and resistors done?
audioguru
Hi Fafa,There are many audio power amplifier projects in our Projects section. The link is at the top of this page.Semiconductor manufacurers have many IC amplifiers and show circuits and sometimes even a pcb design in their datasheets. The internet is full of audio projects sites. ;D
