Pr0fCha0s Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Hi i have 5 spare monitors lying around the house and thought i should make use of them or get rid of them!I have read on a few other sites that it is possible to turn your pc monitor into a tv using a tv tuner (or vcr)I have a spare vcr id like to connect to the pc monitor and a spycam id like to hook up to the vcr so i have then use the monitor as a security monitor with the option to record. How would i go about this? i have a female 15-pin monitor plug and a spare a/v plug is it as simple as wiring one to the other on the right pins?I hope to hear back on this soon, im very excited about getting this working! Great use of unused equipment, i was thinking of hiding a microphone and speakers aswell so i can communicate with people outside before opening the door. ThanksRegardsChris Blackmore Quote
audioguru Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 A pc monitor and a TV are completely different so why would a VCR connected to a monitor do anything?A pile of special parts on a TV card for a pc does all the conversion. You might find a converter circuit on the web but it will be complicated. Quote
