Silicon Posted April 15, 2006 Report Share Posted April 15, 2006 so i planning to build small SMD FM bug,and probbably biggest problem is the antenna size,1m wire is too long,so i was thinking:if i would make little coil from part of my antenna wire?m? just like in that cheap radio control car models ??? audioguru Posted April 17, 2006 Report Share Posted April 17, 2006 They say that a 170cm single wire antenna wire is half-wave but they are wrong. It should be 80cm to 85cm for the center of the FM band.You can shorten the antenna wire and all that will happen is that the range will be reduced.
