acdc Posted July 6, 2006 Report Share Posted July 6, 2006 Hello Guyz,i am haveing lots of troules with the power company its always out so i plan to build an Inverter i bought one 500W inverter japanese made with 2 IRFP054 MOSFET but 500W is not enough for me so im planing to increase the MOSFET to 8 total 4 each side ther are lot of space in the heat sink will it wiorks?plase let me know your openionsACDC Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
audioguru Posted July 6, 2006 Report Share Posted July 6, 2006 Of course you will need to increase the size of the battery, the transformer, the power switch, the fuse and all the wiring between them.The product was built with a big heatsink for a good reason. Maybe it can cool only two Mosfets when they are at max power.Mosfets have a high input capacitance so their driver parts will need to drive a much higher capacitance quickly, or the Mosfets will get hot.
