H__man
Hello,I decided to put together a Jacob's Ladder lately but am a little bit bewildered with the Flyback Transformer which I have taken out of an old monitor.2 of the wires are clearly the high voltage coil's output (ie ground and say 20kV). There is another wire with a rubber seal over it which I assume is another ground connection. And then there are about 10 other connection pins on the base of the transformer, but I've no idea what they do. I can only assume they must be the input.Anyone have any idea what these pins are and if this FBT can be used for my Jacob's ladder? ???Harry
audioguru
A flyback transformer drives the deflection coils that makes the beam move left and right. If you don't know which pin is which and don't know if its high voltage is AC or DC then how can you use it to make a Jacob's Ladder?
