    Led color control

My Daughter bought some led strip lights for her room. Problem is, they came with a controller that has two plugs designed to independently feed each of the 2 spools of strip lights. She wasn't happy she couldn't have a long continuous strip of lights so I spliced the 2nd spool into the first...

    And now something weird

So is it now LBGTQH? I accept people as they are, but I must admit I miss the days when a man was just a man.

Questions about three-phase four-wire distribution system

It depends on the load. The Neutral carries the unbalanced load between phases. Some applications such as a Star (Wye) connected motor only need the 3 phase wires and an equipment ground for safety. It doesn't require a neutral connection. Obviously if there's no neutral load you don't need to...

    Frankenstein's Components.

Ain't gonna run that baby on a flashlight (torch) battery. The original was 14v, adapter allows it to convert to 20v lith ion batteries.

It's a genuine DeWalt adapter but yes, they work great. I can tell the motor rpms are a wee bit higher, but I don't expect any problems running 6v over. Good eye. Btw, I hope the D cell batteries in the background doesn't confuse anyone.

My battery operated nail gun kept faulting out when trying to use it. It would work a few times and then the drive motor would shut off and the lights would flash indicating a low battery. Very annoying when holding a board up and the darn thing quits. Battery was fine. I even tried a power...

Battery Water Level - Bit above Green Line

I agree, your fine. It's worth noting that the water level varies depending on the charge the battery holds. Typically you water when the battery is fully charged and you top off the cells to the full mark. If you were to top off the water level on a discharged battery it would overflow acid...

IR IMAGING DEVICE on the cheap

I use the technique to find the location of a short by briefly applying power with current limited, and increasing until the location is evident. It is not wise to try to solder with power supplied or before the alcohol has evaporated.

trying to understand amp limits? (10 vs 15 vs 16A)

I agree (in part) with Dexterextra. Perhaps not the best choice of words, but I wouldn't call the entire claim ludicrous. The primary role of a circuit breaker is to protect the home wiring in a residential setting. In some cases they are required to have protections for people but they can...

    Capacitor Help

I would trust the components you have over what the manual says. You may have a revision of original circuit. Size shouldn't matter as long as it physically fits. I'd also check zener D105.

I tend to agree that some wording was a bit harsh. In defense of TDAKS, he probably linked to show it's possible to sense hand proximity. I find it admirable for someone to throw ideas out there, even if crazy or impractical. Perhaps it could inspire someone to adapt an arbitrary idea into...

    DIY RC Filter replacement

You wouldn't be able to solder it in. I'd use an axial type cap and solder one lead in one hole, and the resistor in the other. Then solder the leads at the top.

    DIY RC Filter replacement

Good point about the safety caps. Even if X2 caps are used, it roughly 1/3 the cost of replacing with an oem snubber.

    DIY RC Filter replacement

I don't see why not. Just use axial caps and solder the resistor on one end, then cover with heat shrink tube. They likely need replacement due to age but how did you test them? Edit: I just saw 2nd picture. Strike "likely"
