3 Phase motor starter for a 1 phase motor (FNG)

I would loop together 3 contacts on top and connect it to line (mains) voltage and then tie motor load to the bottom contacts under the heater elements. You only need one contact, but since a 1 phase motor will draw more current than the 3 phase motor i would bridge the contacts. You'll...

Power cutting out intermittently on Neff/Bosch Dishwasher S58M40X0GB/07

Yes very likely. It sounds like the power supply is being overloaded or its faulty and unable to deliver enough current. Its also likely that the drain motor tries to run even with the door open to prevent flooding. I'd check the pump motor and monitor its voltage when in use. Sometimes...

Need help to find output of board

Looks like water has caused some bad corrosion. I can't say for sure unless you draw the circuit with resistor values, but it looks like the diode cathodes go to left side of op terminals and the transistor emitter (positive output) goes past the suitcase jumper (may be used to select either...

Anybody else watching the USA election results?

Politicians in high places don't get their money from taxpayers...well, not directly anyway. They make money by using insider information to steer their investments and wield influence. I like a lot of Trump policies but it's painful to listen to him ramble on with his inflated ego. I Believe...

    Making the connection

The problem with those cheap Chinese bullet connectors are that they are mechanically weak and when flexed they loosen at the barrel. A properly sized and spliced butt connector can handle more current while being strong enough to withstand flexing. There are better grade barrel connectors...

    Making the connection

Good catch. It should be crimped and soldered there. Do yourself a favor and cut off those garbage connectors and just use a crimp butt splice.

Try another hdmi cable. It could be a bad t-con board if it's a lcd tv.

3 Phase Motor - 3 Individual Circuit Breakers - Detect if 1 Breaker Tripped And Shut Down Motor

No. Motors are different than most devices because they require much more current to start. Often more than 600 percent of full load current. Therefore they have to be big enough to start the motor without blowing. Fuses and breakers are primarily just for the protection of the branch circuit...

3 Phase Motor - 3 Individual Circuit Breakers - Detect if 1 Breaker Tripped And Shut Down Motor

I'm with Minder. Use a contactor with an overload relay connected below it. It's a requirement to have thermal protect on most motors anyway. When the motor single phases after losing any phase it will trip the ols, which in turn will turn off the contactor/relay. Monitoring voltage isn't...

This treadmill problem is driving me nuts - Please help

I don't know how much current is required but adding a 100Ω resistor will only load it 120ma. A lower resistance would be better but probably unfeasible unless you have high wattage resistors or a load bank or smaller motor to hook up. Likely a problem with the power supply somewhere. I...

Marantz NR1605 clicks on then goes right back off

After taking great care to note note /mark where each cable goes, I'd probably start by removing the vertical riser boards on the edges of the top pcb. You may need to buy or make up jumpers in order to test boards out of chassis.

45 amp Battery looking to prevent arc flash.

I don't think your concerned with Arc flash unless your talking about a battery bank with voltages exceeding 100v. Short circuit protection? Perhaps a fuse or fusable link. Compression lugs covered with shrink tubing are ideal for many applications.

This treadmill problem is driving me nuts - Please help

Print is a bit hard to read but a few thoughts. Strange that Motor + is ground. It first made me think Q1 was for voltage regulation. Its base is fed from Q5 which needs Positive at its emitter (print marked -12) and it base voltage would to be less than that to fwd bias it. Have you checked...

This treadmill problem is driving me nuts - Please help

Components can test fine but fail under a load. I would isolate the power supply and see how much load it can handle (within its output rating) without the voltage dipping. Perhaps D2 or the bridge rectifier is failing under a heavy load?

    Chasing down excessive power consumption

I use a tonner to trace circuits but you can get away with just an ohm meter. Pull hot wire in question from the breaker and temporarily connect it to ground, then when you verify a dead circuit downstream, you will have low resistance from hot to ground. (or it's feed elsewhere) You may have...

    Led color control

I took a peek inside color control box and the two output ports are parallel connected. So the set is designed to feed each string to overcome voltage drop. Not ideal to have to hook it up in the center of the light string. Live and learn.

    Led color control

Edit, I though it was spliced correctly. I did cut ribbon squarely and cleanly like Bertus picture shows and evenly inserted ends into connector before closing. I set color mode to red and squeezed connector with my fingers and it started to light up. Obviously connection wasn't tight. After...

    Led color control

Thanks Harald. I know Its spliced fine at the transition. Strip only has 4 traces labeled +12, R, B, G to match it I had to cut the factory plug and flip orientation but I may have created an open end at the far end? I'll have to investigate farther. I initially tested before installing and...
