    Smart Card Hacking.

No, i'm not interested in doing it, but I found 'how' very fascinating... check out this video... (p.s, not that I could do it, i simply don't have the money, and yes it's legal providing you hack your own card and anything you find you don't distribute) Interesting video too...

    A machine to measure resistors...

I don't mean paying someone to go through 500 resistors with a multimeter... (although that's what I tend to have to do when looking for 1) Could a hall sensor be used? Throw a resistor into a magnetic field then somehow measure the resistance based on how the magnetic field changes? I'm...

I just had a vision of the future of TV.

Really, TV has always relied on Sound and Video interleaved which does a very nice job, esp with the high end sound systems... but I've just had a vision of the future in home entertainment and here's how it works.. Reality meets TV, what i hear you ask. You're watching a scary movie, a...

    Electricity Flowing (how quick)

Trying to work out how faster a router could send data, turns out higher the voltage or more amperage, the faster the signal will travel..... now here's this guy's example on how fast electrons travel... ready for this?... i need confirmation of this lol http://amasci.com/miscon/speed.html

    Transparent Electronic Objects....

Transparent Electronic Objects.... Possible yet? - eg a transparent (well almost by that you see to the other side and out) object like a small diamond, dice, earring size, keyring size, to produce some sort light and activates when dark..... for example, a diamond (shaped) earring, inside the...

    Air Plane Crashes (Pilot Error)

I Really don't understand how in the year 2012 we're able to have the ability to allow a pilot crash a plane.... Why? I don't get it, there's 3 sensors of almost every critical type (eg, x/y/z gyro info, gps, accelerometer, pressure sensors (barometer) ... Now combine all these data...

    (Radio Waves) Which Is Better...

To Send a Signal using High Voltage emitters or Low voltage high amperage?.. For example, 2 transceivers, they both have 3watt transmitting power... except. A. the first transmitter transmits after it's stepped up the voltage and injected the carrier/station... B. the second...

    Car Accident App? lol

I was thinking of writing an App that measures how fast you're driving via GPS and if you're doing say >70mph (or whatever) and you suddenly come to a sharp stop and the accelerometer goes crazy maxing out all the sensors, would it be fair to say?.... THEY CRASHED!!! Then have the...

    Anti Drowning Device?

Why is there nothing that can stop you drowning? Be that at see or your local swimming pool, so here's what I thought of am i missing anything?.... What's Needed, 1 Barometer. 1. G-Sensor (Or Accelerometer) 1 PIC and with 2 pin outputs and...

    A realization

I don't know anyone who likes companies such as banks and cinema and well almost every major company these days, after the voice say your number, sorry i did not understand that please try again... well, the one company NOT following this rule is the telephone company itself, would it not be...

    Current VS Heat.

I was trying to visualize this in my head and it made no sense..... the simplest circuit imaginable, a 10 watt resistor connected between + - of a 5v regulated power supply, the resistor value let's say 5 ohms... We now have 1 amp running through this circuit, now here's the question lol.. I...

    Ice Age Internet Proof...

I was thinking, scary... I believe we've had the huge heat waves, I believe we've peaked, meaning from now on it's going to only get colder and colder with little peaks of short bursts of heat, this will happen on a scale of 10's to 100's of years but i'm certain we've peaked.. from now on...

    CPU pin outs...

[title should really be pin in lol] I was looking at the range of processors from atmel http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/devices.asp?category_id=163&family_id=607&subfamily_id=2138 And i was thinking it would be nice if there was any reasonable processors not too fast not too slow which had...

    A greener idea...

I'm always thinking of new ideas to save the environment... Why not dump windows and linux servers and replace them which run on ARM processors,.. be something as simple as a $20 arduino kit with ethernet shield for small simple tasks like a whois server or a telnet server or even irc...

    resistor should be renamed lol

I think the resistor should be called a restricter, it makes more sense, well to me anyway lol....

    Crystal Oscillator Circuit.

Yeah I can follow the instructions on a circuit and build one no worries, but i'm still a little confused on the theory. the LC tank circuit, simply an inductor (to store a charge) and a capacitor, am I right in assuming, to get the oscillation going, the capacitor and inductor simply throw...

    Cheaper cars?

Not sure where I should really post this question as it's hybrid. Why bother with a steering column on a car at all? remove the steering wheel, clutch, break, making lots of leg room and less hardware, then instead have an array of sensors (double of everything) to watch where your feet move...

    BBC Documentary Error ?

I watched a doc the other day going over the history of electricity, who discovered what, anyway long story short he went onto the 'future' and the means of a super conductor at room temperature, the holy grail. now he said if we could we'd save up to 20%, would it not be more like 80%? with...
