    Now the Fun Begins

    Even if you got it to work, it's stationary nature would likely fail to excite a cat anyhow. It's belongs in a whole new set of projects.

    class A push - pull amplifier ?

    a quote from the page you linked to .... "The big disadvantage of this circuit is that TR1 must have a high standing DC current, which usually means the transistor must be fitted with a heat-sink. " A class A amp, by definition, works on the principal of of it's active components being biased to...

    Speaker/s project - for amplifier.

    that will be the annoying buzzing sound at the cabinet joints and other odd noises that come from the back and sides vibrating like they are all in business for themselves

    class A push - pull amplifier ?

    it might answer some of them, but it does not show you heat

    Speaker/s project - for amplifier.

    I'm well aware of the tiny terrors. Probably one of the best things to happen since the 12AX7. ballast won't help a weak cabinet. it's the panel flex that wrecks your sound. Focus on that as you build.

    Tips on how to cut a pcb

    it depends ... if I just need a little ... dremmel tool. More than that ... jig saw.

    Speaker/s project - for amplifier.

    Your tweeter is 98.44% sure to be in parallel ... just cut the leads to it. Your 10" driver may have a bit of difficulty as it is not necessarily voiced for the task as guitar speakers are. That said, I've done similar and it worked out well enough at the time. Option B is to use it as is. Yes...

    Now the Fun Begins

    You don't actually parallel the loop, you employ multiple op amps and build each to a desired spec, and run those in parallel. At some point you are going to discover that the stomp box creates its lead tone while stripping, or perhaps burying your rich meaty low frequencies. It may or may not...

    class A push - pull amplifier ?

    in the example given, true. I think our subject is terminally confused on the subject matter. The 2N2222 is not any sort of power transistor. It wont sustain any serious duty WITH a heat sink, let alone without. The article even goes so far as to say a heat sink is required.

    Now the Fun Begins

    The actual term for the distortion loop is NFB loop ( negative feed back). This will be on the Quiz as things evolve toward amplifiers. You can put all kinds of stuff in the NFB loop. Band pass filters so it processes different frequencies at different gains. Transistors driven by input...

    class A push - pull amplifier ?

    What I read specified a NEED for a heat sink, which makes perfect sense as the transistor is never "off"

    Paint shop

    You should probably find a chunk of scrap steel to try various paints on. Durability is kinda important

    Just When I Thought it was Going to Be Easy

    As I think of it ... More refined control over tone can be good. A parametric EQ might be nice

    Paint shop

    I'd lay a base in powder coat, use some krylon fusion for stenciled details, then oven bake for durability

    Just When I Thought it was Going to Be Easy

    You are starting to drill down to a rational strategy. What you have is probably good enough for your current experimentation phase. As you figure out what you really want to do, stock up on genuine parts to persue those goals. In the pedal industry, you see the TL072 used extensively. It's very...

    Just When I Thought it was Going to Be Easy

    scrolling back and reviewing the pic you provided of said TL081, the Texas Instruments logo looks kinda suspicious. so we are probably looking at a knock off clone part. At least its a functional part. You can check by simply shifting your bread board connections to use amp 2 to see if it has...

    Just When I Thought it was Going to Be Easy

    I suppose a sort of catchall thread for stomps dev. Got a drone to build before I get back to the breadboards myself.

    Audio emitter resistor

    often times, when these resistors go, it is because an output stage transistor endured a violent death and took the resistor with it

    Just When I Thought it was Going to Be Easy

    This gets into more elements than you thought ... Some of them kinda boring, others seemingly unrelated. Just about anyone actively building things like this would benefit from having a 3D printer. At least for knobs if nothing else. In your case, project boxes made to order. But for now, you...
