Would anybody help with a basic circuit design and spec please

Opto isolator might be your best shot.

Connecting 2 wires each to + & - on battery to recharge the circuit

You might need to check the current rating of the magnetic adaptor. I assume it really would not be all that much so may be inappropriate. It would depend on the charge rate you set for the Lipo as no details are enclosed about that. Be aware also that USB sockets(as on your input) are usually...

2hp motor hums and not turning

Op could but..... Think you'll find windings cooked.

2hp motor hums and not turning

Sounds like it has cooked windings.

    Blown amplifier part.

Appears the cap would be across the transformer line and neutral as one would expect so any measurement may be null and void unless the cap is disconnected at least one leg.

    Toaster PCB Repair

Appears to be both. Seems when the cage comes down it completes the electrical circuit via the white switch (for the secondary side) and the frame completes the "magnetic core" and hence the holding field. That is all I can make out from the photos supplied. There should be some form of primary...

    Toaster PCB Repair

2 and 3 appear to be a "slide switch" on the transformer secondary. Somewhere it needs to start the "toast" process and this is usually done via the "slide" in some fashion. If this is so, again it appears to be a low quality switch and mechanical (which usually fails before all else) to boot...

    Blown amplifier part.

https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/technical-articles/safety-capacitor-class-x-and-class-y-capacitors/ When a Class-X capacitor, also referred to as an "across the line capacitor"—the capacitor placed between line and neutral—fails because of an overvoltage event, it is likely to fail short.

    Rewiring toroidal transformer

Exactly....so the primary voltage is now 110v.(approx half of what it was) Secondary is now therefore 1/2 of what it was also.

    Rewiring toroidal transformer

When I went to school, lowering the primary to half would result in half secondary voltage.

    Trying to identify connector

Measure the pin pitch, then look for JST plug in that range and pin number. They are available with plug already fitted to multi core lead.

    Solar water heating system

The system you show is a "heat exchanger" type. I referred to a storage unit, reason being the guts gets corroded out of "copper" heat exchangers here in most parts of Aus. in very short time.(maybe 3 months) Never-the-less, what you show is obviously a "closed loop" on the solar...

Momentary switch to power ON a circuit

Cmos 555 go much lower supply voltage....check it out first, then comment. .............or as mechanic says, put brain in gear before opening gob.

    Solar water heating system

The way everyday systems work is, there is a holding tank usually around 250 litres on the ground. Tank has a sensor to tell water temp within. Roof collector has a sensor to tell when temp up there exceeds that of the ground reserve tank. When it does, a diaphragm type pump cuts in controlled...

Look up dynamic braking, you'll find simple circuits online. Then add the LED through a separate pole of your relay.

    Multimeter DT-9205AA

Unless you can see something obvious inside, might be better to simply get a new meter. ............then, whatever you did to disable the thing permanently, learn from your mistake and don't repeat.
