    Quick n Dirty answer needed

Bertus- I may be getting confused due to an abundance of riches. I did look at a web page that someone provided a link to. On that page, it had a number of 555 timer circuits, some entitled Blink. I did build from that page and that is one of the circuits, i assume would be reliable as it was...

lol..thank-you for the link to the Amazon already made heart. Thank-you also for the advice. Leave this with me. I don't think I will buy the heart. Part of this is challenging myself to learn how to do it, so that it has more meaning when I give it to her. I am not sure I will be able to do...

    Everycircuit questions

I purchased a copy of everycircuit for my Ipad. I find it to be a great investment for many reasomns; the primary one is because it allows you to experiment with circuit builds without blowing real components up:-) It also helps to learn and appreciate the theory. I have a few questions to...

    Quick n Dirty answer needed

I think I will need 20 LEDSs (all red LEDs for the heart). It is for a card, so it will have to work once or twice. Not somethingnthat will be left on for a long time. The initials, I am thinking of runnings with a separate circuit or two, if required.

    Quick n Dirty answer needed

Well..it is pretty clear that i picked the wrong circuit to follow ;-) Maybe I should reframe what i would like to do. I am drawing a small heart on a 2 X 2.75 inch circuit board. I'd like to light the heart up using red LEDs. Inside the heart, I'd like to have my wife and my initials. I...

    Quick n Dirty answer needed

Normally, i would research this and ask the question in a more informed way. But I am making a special card for my wife's birthday, and U don't have much time left. I just need to know how to tweak the circuit below, so that it runs on a 9volt battery rather than 5volts. It is project #2 in...

    0.01uf. 10n capacitor

Thanks folks. You have helped me solve this mystery. Turns out, I have such capacitors. but I did not realize they were marked 103. I watched a YouTube video on how to decipher the values on a capcitor and it all became clear. your posts confirmed it. Thanks. BTW, I am in Canada

    Question About Something I bought

Thanks Bertus. I have one of those books and have been slowly reading it; as I find time.

    0.01uf. 10n capacitor

I’ve come across many circuits that call for a 10n or 0.01 uF capacitors. I thought I’d buy some but can’t seem to find any on amazon. I have 0.1 uF capacitors but I am looking for 0.01 Does anyone have a link to these? Thank you

    Question About Something I bought

Bertus and Bluejets. Thank-you. I did some quick googling after I posted my question. I know you folks mentioned this to me before about datsheets and the like. What I started doing is ggogling each transistor and then looking for a data sheet and the equivalency thing. Now I am writing on...

    Question About Something I bought

I purchased an assortment of electronic components on Amazon. More specifically, this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07F7ZN695/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I thought it would be a good deal, and I was particularly interested in the transistors. I was thinking that...

A Funny Thing Happened on the way to this circuit

Thanks. I have reconsidered this and decided not to introduce a second bank of LEDS. But I learned something from this, do thanks for that,

A Funny Thing Happened on the way to this circuit

Thank-you. i think you nailed the problem. I failed to realize I was working these banks of LE Ds in parallel. I had assumed, it was i. series. But your observation makes perfect sense. A few solutions are now becoming apparent. Thank-yopu

A Funny Thing Happened on the way to this circuit

Yes I do Bertus. The blue LEDs are 3.oV-3,4V 20mA. the yellow are 1.8V-2.4V 30 mA.

A Funny Thing Happened on the way to this circuit

I can't draw a schematic yet, but this is what i can do. Here is the circuit I am working with:(see attached. ) I also hand drew the LED banks and their connections.

A Funny Thing Happened on the way to this circuit

I created a circuit that utilizes a 555 timer that flashes a bank of blue LEDs driven by a 12 volt battery It works fine. Then I had the bright idea, of creating another bank of LEDs- this time using a yellow LED, and daisy chaining it to the prior LED bank, in series.. My thought was, it...

    Project question

Thank you for all the advice. I also found the circuit below on an electronics app that I purchased. Wonder if the one on the right would work [mod edit: rotated the image] I wonder why the diagram does not specify the voltage to apply

    Project question

I have a little ornament on my guitar that I would likem to light up with 6 LEDS. I'd like for them to automatically liight, when it is dark. I have photo resistors with the specs listed below, but I am understanding that they would have the opposite effect- ie: turn the lights on when it is...
