    Electronics Boffins needed

it's really all wrong....the ir sensor is off and resistor R1 only turns off the top coil when the ir beam is broken.

    Thermal Switch identification

Usually these are meant for over temperature protection, not constant thermostat operation. I've seen similar on many devices but a similar application to your may be the plastic laminators used in offices. On -Off cycles there would probably be in the vicinity of 2 to 3 minutes. However...

    Thermal Switch identification

Te KSD301 identifies it as a basic thermal switch. The temperature is normally stamped on the bottom and relates to the degrees c temperature. However this seems rather high but depends where in the device the sensor is located. You say fogger so that kind of implys there is some type of water...

    Electronics Boffins needed

The ada2168 is an open collector device so with the 470 ohm that is ok... but you don't have any base resistor in series with the transistor base lead after R1. Try maybe 220ohm in there. Yeah, a-about transistor...o_O

Best material to create a soldering tip?

In the case of the soldering tip, it is in fact, the solder which conveys the heat. Try soldering successfully without first tinning the tip and see what result you get.

    SDL1P switch repair

Usually associated with the slide section of the switch plate...latches one way and then the other ......BUT...getting it all back together is normally an extreme balancing trick. I'd have to go with Harald's suggestion.

    Ball Magazine Stop Correctly

I'd imagine the stop position would need to take the overrun at shutdown of power into account. All depends on the mechanics as a whole.

this evil I2C monster scoffing at me from its minute package

Spec calls for 2k7 on each of the sda and scl lines...did you use them? Circuit diagram of what you have there is usually a good start. Include everything. Code also a good move.

I don’t understand current source in a power supply.

No idea what you mean by this....

I don’t understand current source in a power supply.

Think you will find it is a current limit setting. For example, if you set the current to say 50mA, then current in whatever you connect will be maximum limited to 50mA.

find faulty compnent on ATX power supply

Lesson 1.......it's not worth the time and frustration trying to repair them. There are many avenues to learn electronics and the overall best ( as it always was) is to study the theory. Then one can apply newfound knowledge correctly. Starting point possibility...

DMM Showing Current without Current Source

Well, I'm just an electrician so I wouldn't know. Good luck, Norm.

DMM Showing Current without Current Source

I'd be disconnecting the alternator first. Beats me why you need a tong meter when it's only small current drain where the meter can measure direct.
