    Soil moisture

Not if stainless steel, and as already explained, there is no DC on the probes in the circuit provided. As far as capacitive modules, you could go for these from say Ebay for example but you still need to add Arduino control, write the program and physically enclose the controls away from...

    ribbon cable connection repair

Be aware stoves radiate a lot of heat and any cabling/connectors may well be high temperature rated. Any form of repair must take this into consideration, as it may well be the source of the problem as well as locking tabs breaking off due to deterioration over the ages.

    Soil moisture

With the capacitive measure, the probes are electrically insulated from the surroundings so no risk of any corrosion there. Unless of course your insulation breaks down over time. Most of the capacitive probe modules will require the use of an Arduino microcontroller. The alternative is the...

    Identify part please

Looks like a fusible resistor, possibly 2W , value unknown. There will obviously be other defective parts as well. Might be an off chance of measuring the resistance. Others have the resistance value marked on the board, perhaps still be able to make it out before you disturb anything.

Motor and battery for hobby project?

Don't use smoke alarm batteries for motors, they don't have the capacity.

Motor and battery for hobby project?

It wasn't pointed at any particular motor/gearbox arrangement, rather simply what/ where.

Motor and battery for hobby project?

Most likely a dc motor gearbox unit. Gearing and type would depend on your design, many are available. https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=dc+motor+gearbox&_sacat=0

    DC motors and speed control

Many pieces of equipment have descrete devices rated at higher levels than the working levels. It's simply to give some overhead, not necessarily for a higher output.

    DC motors and speed control

400w/90v approx 4.5A. If you need bigger, buy a bigger unit, best way.

    Power switching relay

Anything which contains a motor, such as the refrigerator, has to be considered as a high current device. Reason being, the startup current of approx. 4 to 6 times the full load rating. This will drag a generator's voltage down to a point where the motor cannot start and will bog the whole...

    Honda MICU Breakdown

Spraying, blowing out, water repellant whatever, never seem to work. As Martin says, leave it to it's own resources to dry out on iit's own. Had a phone drop into 3ft flood water......no amount of "drying out" by applied means did any good whatsoever. A month later, picked it up and plugged...

    Petrol kart conversion to electric

A 60cc two stroke engine is possibly in the vicinity of 8hp given the power pipe in the photo. 8 hp is approximately 746 x 8 is approx = 6Kw. So six of your choice motors and batteries to suit. This in itself adds extra requirements for power, bit like the space shuttle. Impracticle I would think.

    LED lit cabinets

Cabinet light drivers are mains powered constantly, no requirement to isolate the mains side other than have them "plug in" at the standard "access panel". The latter being essential to replace drivers in the event of any unit failure. Cabinet makers on many occasions, bury the low voltage...

    Power switching relay

You will not find a 240v AC changeover type contactor at that 40a rating. There are contactor style relays which changeover but I'm pretty certain they will bow out at around the 20A max. Usually in a 4 pole arrangement. I for one, would not like to be switching a 40A load "on" through...

Hello, need a little help with this?

1800w on a standard 10A outlet @220v It's only 8A afterall.should be no problem or cause for anything out of the ordinary with regard to cabling. It's only 8A after all. Your toaster, jug and clothes dryer pulls way more than that. Not only that but that rating is the maximum it can deliver...

    3.3mm PCB stereo socket

Normal approach to decent parts is to get them from say RSComponents or similar in your country. Anything from Ebay etc. is simply trash. Just looked in RS and they have a wide range of 3.5mm pcb mount sockets at reasonable cost.
