    Seems to me it would be simpler to track down the fault and fix it. You'll need to take extreme care with any power up test as it is not mains isolated control.

    That,s because the 2 pin is a switch and it is possible to switch it on and off by pushing or rotating the knob past the low position. Other readings seem correct.

    So you did not use any type of multimeter or continuity tester...?? Therefore my previous suspicion may still be true....i.e. 2 x reds mixed up. It may be that the pot is supplied with the same potential as the switch BUT it might also be the pot is on 5V line and your switch on a higher...

    Diagram resistance is 0.025R To obtain this result then two 0.05R resistors are required. Think Op has made a boo boo somewhere.

    How did you dertermine which cable was which...?? Yup...doesn't work ...and you've already found that. No circuit diagrams....very difficult from a distance with limited knowledge/resources on your part.

    Is the power supply suitable......Did you try it on a 12v battery for example..?

    If using a battery, it should be large enough capacity to cover all the components combined AND for the time you expect it to run. Don't know what the 6A rectifier diodes are for but best you show a setup circuit of what you have planned.

    The route length and the resistance creates such a low voltage drop at that current and hence a low power disipation. Well taken care of with the two parallel 5w resistors.

    LED it's not blinking at the expected rate

    You could start with a current limit resistor on series with the LED. Most uC ports will handle only 20mA. Anyones guess on how much excess current an LED without a resistor will try to pull from the port pin. Possibly even damage the port or the complete chip.
