    Do you have a link to where you found this..?? Any detail on the LED required and the one you used..? Difficult to see some of the details of your board..... e.g. 1K resistor looks like it ends with a black band. 1N9001 seems a strange value .

    Meter on dc range..? Meter tests ok..? unusual for any reading to go higher than normal (within tolerances) Input voltage/frequency match input requirements..? Board looks to have been pretty warm around the switcher ic and associated bits.

    Perhaps but it might be different if you use the black probe on the reference "GND" that is adjacent to each 3v3, 5v and 12v etc. 23v is the far right, not the second as you have marked. Which meter range are you using? Edit...Cirkit...beat me by .......that much) :)

    Using a mains extension would be the normal accepted method, however if you must and intend to replace the entire length of LV leads, then go heavy. Maybe also invest in a pair of HD clamps while you are there. Most of these have poor quality clamps anyhow.

    If it's a "smart charger" chances are the charger interrupts the charging routine on occasion to take any readings thus making a change in cable size irrelevant. Charger may well be rated at 50A but yet to see one charge at such a high constant rate.
