Sequential Timers with PWM Motor Speed Control

Hi Audioguru, Sorry to hear about your problems. I’ve been there gluing the pieces back together after numerous test flights (crashes) just don’t give up glue is cheap! It sound better if you call it test flights, it boosts your self-confidence! ;D    Anyway, have you checked the prop tilt...

    BJT power supply

Alun; The plan was to put it right across the supply for the 555, where else should I put it if I wanted to protect the 555?? Audioguru; I know how to take care of the battery poles but I still like to protect circuits I build from unnecessary damage. ;D  When a battery is well taken care of...

    Dual CMOS based timer problems...

Hi Kain, I don’t recommend this kind of psu solution, it’s not entirely safe. If you get (AC1) to live side the circuit ground will be live minus the diode drop of one diode in the bridge which is not healthy!  :o

    BJT power supply

Hi Alun, I can’t see any problem with a zener to protect the 555??? Can you explain why this is not a good idea?

    Switching Power Supply Regulator

Hi Dennis. The only Amstrad schematic I got is for the SRX-360, with some luck they might have similarities! I’ll keep my fingers crossed! Amstrad_SRX360.pdf

    what is gate driver?

Hi ray, Here is the datasheet for one that I have used: http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/MAX626-TSC428.pdf You can find out many thins from it! 8)

Car alternator, as a stepper motor?

Hi Dazza, Still around, I’m glad! ;D So it has become a big and heavy milling machine? It might work with an alternator if you rewind the stator and rip out the rectifiers, but I don’t thing it would be nearly as strong as an equally sized stepper motor though. The electro-magnetized rotor...

I Have Been Trying to Find Manual but.......

I would look very closely at the circuits and connectors all the way from the wall socket (even the core) to the part where the green LED is connected. Follow the path with a meter to see where the power gone missing.  8)

    Switching Power Supply Regulator

Hi Dennis, It’s not easy to find this regulator with what you give us to go on. Is it working or broken, can you from its position find out which pins are connected to what and so on? Maybe it’s possible to find a schematic for the “apparatus” where it is located? Pictures ? I like to help you...

    Disco Mirror Ball

Hi nwaste, You can use a wiper motor with PWM no problem, but some motors have to be modified if you like to run them in both directions. A wiper motor with a small load will draw just a few A.

LED in series stops circuit working

Hi Richard, Welcome to our forum. You must connect the LEDs in parallel with the fan and the solenoid. And in series with each LED there must be a resistor to limit the LED current. 8)

    BJT power supply

Hi Alun, Yes, it’s for a vehicle application and I need about 2A at 12.0V. I found a good circuit for this app I think. I will put a zener in to protect the 555 from spikes though. Any suggestions for further improvements on this circuit? 8)
