    Transformer less power supply

    Hi FlipFlop, If you are going to power a relay, why not just use a 120 or 240V relay instead?

    Help modifying this PWM fan controlling circuit

    Hi dark, Just like the man says, add another resistor (R4) use the formula and you will be fine. This is all in the datasheet for the LM3914. BTW, my favourite fan controller site is: http://www.cpemma.co.uk/index.html

    PC = oscillescope

    Hi gawad, You can do this in at least two different ways: There are adapters like this; http://www.linkinstruments.com/oscilloscope21.htm Or you can use your soundcard input via a simple attenuator circuit and some software like this; http://polly.phys.msu.su/~zeld/oscill.html

    power point controller

    Hi malique, I didn’t know that someone still uses slides at lectures. :o  The “screen” projectors used today all comes with a remote as far as I have seen. I guess you want a remote that covers a larger area and doesn’t depend on visual contact ?

    I'M Lost!

    Hi MP, I agree, Bill Gates just did the right things at the right point in time and had some luck too. And that’s not against any law as far as I know! Alun, If the alternative was better I think many would change their habit. If another system could open “all” MS file types for example...

    high voltage switching power supply

    Hi, I don’t see any problems building a 500V SMPSU, but from 0 to 500V would be very hard. I have seen a 0 to 100VDC @5A (Elector Magazine) but 0 to 500V it has never been done. Maybe you should have a look at the CUK PSU in Elektor, I think it was april 2005. You might get some idea from it! 8)

    Hi STS, I like this one: http://www3.telus.net/chemelec/Projects/Power-Supply/Power-Supply.htm It has low component count, still it's very flexible. I haven’t tried it myself but I’m sure it works fine.
