Hi Rhonn,
I am not sure it’s a good idea to use this circuit to supply a color tv! This circuit do not produce a pretty waveform. It is probably aimed for supplying bulbs and heater panels or maybe a still. ;D ;D
Hi prateek,
I think I would draw the line between circuits including active semiconductors and circuits with no active semiconductors! As an example I consider a rectifier bridge or a diode as non active semi!
But that's just me! 8)
Hi Rhonn,
I am sorry about the 3610, I can’t help you with that one. However the 5210 is fully documented, good luck!

Hi prateek,
If you just measure the resistance it will not make any difference! However if you where measuring the inductance or the capacitance it would change the value compared to a strait piece of wire.
Hi hossar,
Welcome to our forum.
1. Do you mean: “how do you know the current rating of an unmarked transformer”?
2. You will need a tube-tester for this.
OK, given the fact that we are dealing with an audio transformer we can also assume that the frequency range is in the audio spectrum? Would it then be false/true to state that “The physical size reveal to some degree the power rating.” ?
Hi walid,
Do you have an audio generator and an oscilloscope? You could then compare the characteristics with know transformers from a manufacturers list. The physical size reveal to some degree the power rating.
Hi Jamal,
I have seen an exactly identical project in an EPE magazine, but unfortunately I don’t remember in which issue. The only thing I am sure about is that it was a long time ago.
If I find it, I’ll let you know.
Hi FlipFlop,
What kind of load (AC, DC, A & V) is the relay suppose to switch?
Most standard relays, even small once can be found with 120 and 240VAC coils. Or maybe you like to power something more than the relay from 12V? 8)
Hi quietman,
Wellcome to our forum.
Yes it is possible to convert a standard welder to serve as a MIG.
Depending on the welder type and specs it can be a smaller or bigger job to achieve. One thing which affects the mod is if the welder at hand is AC or DC.
This guy Jan has built a MIG but...
