Not Understanding Arduino useage versus traditional Electronics useage in Devices.

Quantum computers are, at present, very exotic devices that require complex laboratory equipment to function, and are intended to solve specific types of problems that standard digital computers cannot readily do in a reasonable period of time. It's unlikely the will ever be used in a home...

It still just a computer, albeit a theoretically more powerful one.

Not Understanding Arduino useage versus traditional Electronics useage in Devices.

It's not just "Consumer" devices, it's any devices being built. Advances in technology won't significantly change what I said. If you don't understand at least the basics of analog electronics, the computer is of limited use.

Not Understanding Arduino useage versus traditional Electronics useage in Devices.

Not really. You still need to understand "electronics" if you want to interface the computer to the part of the outside world which is mostly analog. Note that binary "digital" signals outside the computer are basically two-level analog signals and you must understand the analog characteristics...

What is a "turbo jet fan (enclosed)"?

Stepper Motor Locks Up at Speeds Above 8mm/s

You appear to be exceeding the motor output torque limits for that high a speed. The Y-axis motor may be driving a higher load than the Z-axis motor.

How do I run a 24VAC solenoid off of a couple of 9V's?

Another newbie necro post. This thread is over 10 years old, so I doubt the TS is interested in another solution.

    Audio amp modification

I should have noted that half power is just -3dB in apparent sound loudness, which is generally just a barely noticeable change, so perhaps not as much is it would seem. 10dB or a 10 times change in audio power is the value that people usually perceive as a doubling or halving of the volume...

    Audio amp modification

If it's a donated amp and you have nothing to lose, then you might try hacking it allow one channel to output the full frequency range, and use that to drive the speakers. It would be half the power, but may still be sufficient for your purposes. Do you have the full schematic that shows the...

    Audio amp modification

No. The power from one output will be shorted by the other output and you will blow the amps. It might be possible to use a speaker crossover circuit in reverse to combine the two outputs, but that would be problematic and might still blow the amps, Why are you trying to replace an amp that...

Still not clear exactly what you want to do, and why you want to do it.

Not Understanding Arduino useage versus traditional Electronics useage in Devices.

It's not analog electronics, but it is digital electronics. It still uses electrons and transistors to generate the result. The difference is that digital electronics can use digital words to represent analog values and perform analog type functions on those digital values. The digitized...

    So what's the difference between 12v at 1a and 1v at 12a?

Yes, the TS is a little strange, or a troll.

    So what's the difference between 12v at 1a and 1v at 12a?

It can in a superconducting coil.

    Basic Volts vs watts question

An "amp" is a measure of the amount of current in a conductor. For a resistive load amps equals volts divided by resistance (I = V / R). You shouldn't be messing with electricity if you have no concept of how it works, and don't see to understand what we are saying.

    Basic Volts vs watts question

If it is 12V and can deliver 20A. There's no "care" about it. Volts and watts are two different electrical parameters. Watts is the power it uses, and volts is the "force" behind the current into the device. Power is the volts into the device times the amps it takes, thus 12V @ 20A is 12V x...

    Basic Volts vs watts question

Stop thinking. You will only do that once, and then you will likely need to buy a new tire inflator after the smoke clears. Yes, both voltage and current are very important. It's not the wire that's the main concern, it's the device being powered. A 12V device requires 12V for operation. 120V...
