I want to ask a few questions. Can I control a 380 DC motor using Arduino with a driver card? And I want to ask another question. Can I calculate the

When you say "DC Motor" It can cover a few types, e.g. DC brushed, BLDC, etc. Generally, the latter type requires a specialized controller, suited to its method of commutation. ? .

    Rewiring toroidal transformer

If you ever want to confirm the correct connections for two separate (parallel or series} primaries, connected in parallel. The simple was to ensure the phasing is to connect one conductor of each winding to each other and feed this connection and ONE of the other open ends with 120vac. if you...

Locking a 300V BLDC motor for encoder calibration

To turn a BLDC motor into a servo you require an encoder with the 3 commutation tracks, You also need to know the pole count of the motor in order to order the correct commutation spacing, this is easy to find out by shorting the 3 conductors turn one revolution and measuring the 'bumps,/ rev...

    Beware buying from china

The main beef I have is there is a very rarely any documentation for small electronic devices/circuits etc.

Know of a good reference book for electronics?

A couple of gripes I have with that pub. is they show power-common as Earth GND all the way through, also do not list the common symbol listing for schematic and ladder DWG.

    3 Pin Relay Wiring?

It is used to allow current to flow into the series relay winding, the start winding and the start capacitor when the motor is started. The initial high current picks up the relay and switches both cap and winding across the supply, after the motor comes up to run, the current in the two series...

    3 Pin Relay Wiring?

I think you will find that is a induction motor start relay, goes in series with the start capacitor and drops out when the motor has started and the start winding current has dropped. It only has a few heavy turns, so the current would be very high if connected across 120v !

    PWM on 12volt winch?

If looking at mains options for the 2HP winch you have spec'd in, there is also the readily available TreadMill motors that go up to 2Hp - 3 HP. The example of one of the popular MC2100 controller that uses PWM and slow ramp up, desirable in a TM. The one thing to add for this option is a...

    PWM on 12volt winch?

Brushed DC PM motors have been around for some time now, the old wound field is long gone,. Except for series field motors, e.g. the Universal motor found in vacuum's and the older style starter motor. IOW, in brushed PM, the field is now PM, the armature is still wound.

    PWM on 12volt winch?

PM motor can be DC brushed, BLDC or 3ph AC synchronous, the last two motors are identical in construction, just the means of commutation is different. The BLDC has only two windings energized at any one time, the AC synchronous has three phase applied. Both motors can be used in both fashion...

    PWM on 12volt winch?

There are PWM controllers out there for BLDC motors, I have fitted a few to bike conversions, practically all use BLDC now. Details of the present motor would help. Although yours may be running at one speed, it still requires a drive or means of commutation, when running off of a DC source.
