    ryobi cordless tool battery replacement

If I were to go that route personally I would go with the toroidal transformers and the bridge, rather than Chinese SMPS supplies, also you do not necessarily need the caps for DC motor use, just obtain the secondary for your particular tool rated voltage, A 20v secondary will be good for the...

    Controlling Motor with 0-10V input

I see the controller is Pic based already, I guess the 16F616 you refer to, so I assume they are using a 0-5v pot in to a analogue input. So all you should have to do is input a variable signal level between the pic common (gnd) and the pot centre/slider conductor whatever method you are using...

    Help with comparison of DMM's.

The Fluke 117 is a pretty decent meter, it will set you back around $200. Considered the electricians meter. I wouldn't restrict your self to very low voltage as PLC's can be installed to control high voltage devices, albeit often indirectly. M.

    Controlling Motor with 0-10V input

That is a large motor. If the drive in question uses a PWM with simple 555 to control the motor, the pot will just be to vary the timing input so it could be replaced by an Op-amp or maybe with a variable output opto such as H11F1 etc. M.

    Help With Correct Power Supply

Personally I would stay away from SMPS for motor control, they do not take overload gracefully and also are often impossible to get parts to fix if they fail, the linear supply is just about bullet proof if fused right for max Va. M.

Rotary sensor with logic output, kind of...

One method I used using magnets using a SS400 style latching sensor to prevent unbalance was placing a miniature magnet on opposing sides of the rotor, one S pole the other N facing out. One latched the other unlatched the hall sensor. M.

Do I need resistors with my transistor?

That is the advantage of a Fet, It is voltage and not current driven. M.

    Help With Correct Power Supply

Yes for DC motors you can use a simple step down transformer and bridge rectifier, no cap needed for motor operation. M.

    Connect 24V 2wire sensor to 5v Logic

That appears to be a 2 wire sensor and requires the voltage from the load of the sensor to also power itself. As opposed to the 3 wire type that use +/- & out. It also appears to be a level switch as opposed to a linear output which Would require the 3 terminal type. They are intended for...

Do I need resistors with my transistor?

If driving a solenoid from an Arduino look at a Fet such as 2n7000. If over 200ma load then a logic level power mosfet will work. M.

Rotary sensor with logic output, kind of...

Another name is a Watchdog Timer for the 555 cct. Some methods of detecting rotation is a hall sensor, such as the Honeywell SS400 series and requires a small magnet on the rotator or a retro-reflective sensor and a strip of reflective tape on the axle. M.

    Weird Meter Problem!

The problem with electronic VOM's is they are relatively high impedance and often induced or stray currents /ground currents etc can make them show a reading, if this is experienced in a circuit that should normally be off or dead, then applying a low value resistor across the meter will...

    Weird Meter Problem!

I know with Fluke meters in general, the reading go crazy when the battery is low and before the low batt comes on. I had one maintenance electrician come to me with the problem, he was measuring 230vac where it should be 120vac max. I changed the battery and solved his problem! M.
