    control 16 electromagnets

It all depends on what the electromagnets are designed to do. What is the purpose of reversing the polarity? If this is similar to a solenoid or relay, the armature will stay retained. A P.M. has to be introduced. M.

    join servo signal wires

I very much doubt that you will have success if these are PID positioning loop servo's, each has to have its own control loop. In a motion control system it is done with electronic gearing, but this also requires individual drives. It can be done with stepper motors. What trajectory controller...

Designing VFD starter in EATON MCC

Your question is too vague the way it is posed. I am assuming you want to fit a MCC (master control contactor) to a VFD? For enclosure size you do a mock layout, preferably with a cad drawing, use NFPA79 for a reference. Also this may help...

Is it my transformer or rectifier?

At least disconnect the bridge which would be a start, it appears accessible. Do you mean three different supply conductors or three different secondary/supplies? M.

It is 1.2v typical, have you actually tried one, I have used 2n7000 extensively in many projects ever since they came out and have not experienced any problems at all' M.

    fan repair and diagnosis

Those fan motors are typically shading ring type and do not take lightly to any sort of friction, if the bearings are the sintered bronze type they are porous and if not excessively worn, can be washed with a detergent such as Paraffin (kerosene). And then soaked over night in light oil. M.

Need help with obsolete Motorola components.

Most likely a 2SC830, http://www.americanmicrosemi.com/information/spec/?ss_pn=2SC830 If testing a semi on the regular ohms scale usually result in a false reading, unless you have a semi test range, M.

Is it my transformer or rectifier?

I would disconnect the rectifier and apply power to the transformer and let it run for a while to see if there is any excess heating, meanwhile do a continuity check on all the bridge diodes. Incidentally if a metal enclosure cover touches the centre bolt, it will act a s a shorted turn on the...

Chatting about stepper motors and their control

In a general sense I would have picked motor 2, this is from the some of the knowledge picked up by practical applications from such as the largest forum of stepper motor users out there, namely the CNCzone, where many posters are represented by manufacturers such as Gecko drives etc. As a...

Electron Flow vs Energy Flow? - Help me understand

Ground as it pertains to a circuit diagram is a simple common reference point only, typically the neg side of a supply and used as a common point where circuit signals or voltages are referenced from. It could just as easily be any other point such as the +rail of a supply. In the case a Earth...

Electron Flow vs Energy Flow? - Help me understand

I can see why you are confused in a couple of areas. Read up on electron flow and conventional flow. I was raised, electronically speaking, during the valve/tube era and had a grasp on the electron flow from cathode to anode, but supposedly accredited to Ben Franklin, electron flow is from...

Homemade DC generator(dynamo) with a spinning coil

I would tend to use a portable hand tool motor of some kind, these are generally P.M. DC motors. Or any kids toy that has a fair size DC motor in it. To wind your own from scratch a com can be made from some 1/2" or 3/8" copper pipe and a dowel that will fit the I.D. cut slots in the copper pipe...
