my power supply device rated 13.8vdc output but I've test it and the output voltage is 26.8vdc

The Moderators can direct you how to upload an image. Are you able to tell us the manufacturer and model number of your power supply? There should be some type of identification on it.

    mercury on plastic and wood

Ruth, If you're still there, I should have mentioned that some hardware stores, and Home Depot and Lowe's sell a flexible clear plastic sleeve that fits over both sizes of those long fluorescent lights made specifically to prevent what happened to you. The sleeves cost less than $2 each. They...

    Ceiling Fan Repair

I don't know where you're at. Where I am there is a lot of dust in the air and when there is a lot of humidity, the dust collects (and builds) between the rotating motor part with the fan blades on it, and the fixed motor frame. I usually DISCONNECT POWER, and use a can of spray contact cleaner...

my power supply device rated 13.8vdc output but I've test it and the output voltage is 26.8vdc

We really need to know the make and model number to offer help. Some power supplies require a load to read actual output accurately.

    mercury on plastic and wood

I ain't the EPA, but you seem very concerned. Don't be. Clean what was contaminated well and be careful next time. (The dust is a phosphor coating the inside of the glass for luminance. There is only an extremely small amount of mercury involved).

Automatic Blow Off For A Conveyor

Unsure, with the limited information you provided. I'm assuming you have worked-out the signal from the scale that will trigger the air-blow? I don't understand how you think a 'on/off delay timer' is going to help here. Can you be more specific about the process itself so we can have a better...

Lots Of New Resistors And Other Things

Too bad you're so far away, I'd take 'em off your hands. I don't know what-all is in your neck of the woods. If you don't want to try eBay, maybe you could check into any Amateur Radio clubs in your area, or any electronics hobby-type clubs that you might be able to make a deal with. If not the...

Lots Of New Resistors And Other Things

Methinks you got yourself more than just resistors. Did you have a question about them, or did you want us to envy your good fortune?

    Replacement LCD's

LCD's for a lot of equipment are for a particular product-run and are gone. What does your LCD go into? Make and model number? Somebody MIGHT be able to find a replacement. Depending on what this is, I often check on eBay or someplace similar to try to find a similar unit I can salvage a...

    Newbie, please help

Don't build one from scratch, buy one (it'll be faster). If you need to show the wife who's boss, take them out of their new plastic housings and mount them in old cigar boxes and screw them to the wall. (So it looks like you built them from scratch)

Lg tv stuck on camport saying disconnect front av jacks, nothing is plugged in older tv 2006 model

davenn & kellys_eye have good suggestions for things for you to check. (My kids loved to utilize that trap door for the old VHS tape machines for inserting small toys that I had to remove). Another possibility is to get a copy of the owners manual, they're usually free on-line, and see if...

    Alternative Materials for Homemade Circuitboards

The printed circuit board I see today are tried and true. I've been around long enough to have seen early attempts at what's in use today. Some early boards absorbed water, grew mold and mildew, and were otherwise not very well thought-out. You've got a lot of good suggestions in the posts...

    Salvaged components

I salvage my stuff for repairs of other gear. There's a hobby circuit on-line or in print for just about anything you're interested in trying. Think of something you'd like to do or have, and look for the circuit to build it. Just be glad if you're like me, and probably a lot of the other guys...

Awww shucks, .... I sure hope that thing doesn't turn-out to be some kinda newfangled flashlight or something.

    What is this device

Yeah, it even says it on the board. It's a Xenon Flash Tube strobe flasher. My kids enjoyed them immensely when they were young. I don't see one on your board, but they were usually connected to a potentiometer to vary the speed of the flashes. Heed duke37 & kellys_eye's advice, that...

Please Help Identifing Diodes In Old Boat Motor Rectifier

I think it would help us to help you if you would tell us what part numbers you can read on each device. If they're no longer available we can try to cross-reference them, If they're still easily available we might be able to tell you where you can get them cheaper. If there is a Model Number...
