You could generate a constant tone and use the fade effect several times and speeds on that tone.
You can select a part of the tone and apply the fade effect on that part.

With chirp you can create a frequency shift over time.
That way you could test the behaviour of a filter.

The fine signal shape is the audio signal. The thick line is the created envelope.
You could try 100 nF with 1 MOhm for RC and see how it behaves.

In stead of making a complete series of filters twice, you could add a simple amplifier between the filter and rectifier circuit:
That would save you a lot of work.

You could likely use the TL074 (you already have) for all filters and buffers.
The TL074 might have some worse specs, but you are not going to listen to the outcome of the filters.
The filtertool is likely to promote the Analog chips.
