    Isolating electric shower

I think you should talk to a plumber or pipe fitter. PS; If it was my kids, they'd just leave the toilet in a raw state for the next person if they couldn't flush.

Microwaves to destroy termites in wood

Good idea, and good replies but it's understandable to me why its seldom used. Termites are attracted to damp soft wood thats easy to chew through. If you microwave those damp areas you will not only cook the termites but the surrounding damp wood with them. Added to that, the metal nails...

Fuses - breaking capacity, rupture capacity - fuse resistance

Not exactly what I said. Impedance is a factor but it pales in comparison to the circuit resistance and the available energy at its source. If you have a bolted short the only significant impedance is in the upstream transformer supplying it, not the fuse itself.

Need help finding power source for solenoid

I agree that a striker plate is the better/safer way to go but if your load is 400ma, then you should order a ps larger than that. A little headroom is advised. I'd go with at least 500ma.

Fuses - breaking capacity, rupture capacity - fuse resistance

Breaking capacity is also known as interrupting rating or IR rating. Its basically the rating of the maximum amount of instantaneous current available at its source that can be safely interrupted if there was a short circuit. Even if a fuse has an amp rating much less than the load it can...

Fronius acctiva flash 70A car battery charger

Probably not. Those are pretty robust components, but be careful the transistor doesn't see too much heat. I wouldn't even try removing it. it's probably fine. I'd cut off the trace with an exacto knife and just add a insulated jumper wire like you marked in red. Then investigate the components...

Fronius acctiva flash 70A car battery charger

Thats not pretty. R0003 is a current sense resistor for regulation. My guess it got hot from an upstream short and the smaller trace shorted to it and blew apart. Due to its size you might be better off with a higher wattage iron than hot air.

Help with LED sign (Silent Radio) power supply please

It not a bad idea to understand what the load is instead of guessing at the values and smoking the thing. But that's your call. The 5.6 zener won't tell you what the supply side is but it is a clue and can explain how the op amp circuits work. If you were willing to look at what pin 4 goes to...

Help with LED sign (Silent Radio) power supply please

I think you need to also draw out what plugs into P2 to better understand the ckt. The voltage is probably between 9 and 15v but don't guess. Perhaps D1 is a zener diode that may be marked with a Voltage?

    Reflow Bga chip.

Update: Picture still working ok, but all my Hdmi inputs just quit working.:( I believe the hdmi inputs are switched through another chip before being sent to the graphics chip I reflowed last month.

    Smoothing capacitor replacement. Value unknown.

Id check out that diode in series with it and reflow the solder joints as some look corroded and fractured.

    Security camera problem

Idk, I'd ask the ebay seller. They are motivated to resolve problems so you leave them a positive review. There's a chance that there's a problem with the cameras. From my understanding even if it doesn't recognize the NTSC format, it still shows a fuzzy black&white picture.

Trying to build an IR to RF device

Perhaps. A schematic of what you have would be a start. You would've been better off designing one circuit rather than a hodgepodge of 3 circuits and power supplies.

Question on reversing polarity for DC Motors

I would consider using magnetic reed switches for their compact size as opposed to mechanical limit switches that can be cumbersome and difficult to mount on something like this. You need to make make sure these limits are reliable because if the trip-dog missed them, the motor will keep running.

    Security camera problem

Yes, Your camera is probably NTSC format while your TV is PAL format. Different amounts of scan lines and frames rates between the two. The manual for your TV should confirm what video standards it will accept. An inexpensive NTSC to PAL converter may be an option for you.

Question on reversing polarity for DC Motors

Even if a timer is accurate down to a μs, there is still mechanical lash between a spinning motor and whatever its driving and fluctuating RPMs that makes accurate repeatability difficult. I don't know the application here or if accuracy of position is important but I thought it worth...

Question on reversing polarity for DC Motors

If maintained contacts of the switch are required then I'd use 2 one shot relays. Ebay has many of these one shot timer modules for a few bucks a piece. Relay contacts usually can handle up to 10a. Using a timer to drive anything that requires accuracy is not advised.
