    Artificial Intelligence

That beast is already alive and kicking. As I said, scary. It’s way over my head as is voice activation or the messaging services. It’s already implemented. The dark side will find a value!.

    Artificial Intelligence

I couldn’t agree more. It starts with a written program by a human. That human can manipulate any scenario. Quite scary really. H.A.L comes to mind. Martin

Removing Components for Testing versus On Board Testing

Mr Harold, loads of members have given you advice. It is up to you to accept it or choose not to. We all started clearly stating that it’s impossible to answer your question. You couldn’t accept that as an answer. You carried on asking giving different scenarios. That didn’t work either. I can...

Removing Components for Testing versus On Board Testing

But the book ‘electronics for dummies’ and start at the beginning. But TBH, there is so much information available online, you can probably get by by searching for your particular repair or device. There are some half decent repair tutorials online too. Only you can decide if you’re capable...

Removing Components for Testing versus On Board Testing

We’re going round in circles. A brain surgeon has to start somewhere. An airline pilot has to start somewhere. A mechanic has to start somewhere. A chef has to start somewhere. Even an alcoholic has to start somewhere!. Nothing happens overnight. Rome wasn’t built in a day!. The humble...

    LED Supply Mounting

IMHO, you would be better to install the power supply away from the shelves. First reason is that you only need to hide the LED wires. Secondly, having the power supply in an easier to access location for maintenance. Martin

    30 yr old blower quit.

If you have no voltage across the mains wires inside the blower, the cable itself needs cutting back and reconnecting. Cut about 4 or 5 inches back from the ‘grommet’ (strain relief). That should sort it out. You can of course use clips on your meter leads and jiggle the cable to see if the...

    30 yr old blower quit.

Ah yes. Check continuity of the individual wires in the mains cable. The usual suspected break is ironically in the cable strain relief. You can cut a few inches off and reconnect the wires.

    30 yr old blower quit.

Appears to be an open slide switch. Start by cleaning it. Use a contact cleaner, squirting inside and vigorously sliding the switch positions. It should clean the carbon tracks. Martin

Learning Electronics for Everyday Practical Reasons Non-Professional

I just have to reply again. The OP doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of ‘basic electronics fixer upper’. There is no such thing!, period. You CAN have basic repairs. If you open a TV, Hi-Fi, amplifier or Satellite box for example. You may get lucky with a blown internal fuse. But that fuse...

Learning Electronics for Everyday Practical Reasons Non-Professional

Again, car repair. You didn’t just ‘know’ how to change the pads or spark plugs!. You read a book (possibly Haynes) manual or a family member showed you. Martin

Learning Electronics for Everyday Practical Reasons Non-Professional

Interesting post!. What’s easy for one person isn’t necessarily easy for another. Time is of the essence in every single thing we do. Absolutely nobody knew how to do anything without first investigating or being shown or being taught. The time it takes is 100% down to the individual. The...
