    It will do, but honestly your better off with one really good meter than 25 mediocre meters. Save up and buy yourself a Fluke and or a Simpson. You won't regret it.

    I wouldn't expect a conflict because the alternator should have a diode to prevent current flowing backwards and a voltage regulator that will keep the output low if the other charger has the voltage range up. Only problem I see is the charging current could go too high if both chargers are on...

    I agree Harald, but the easiest thing to do is probably plugging it into another outlet on a different circuit to see if it trips. Most of the time the problem lies with the appliance, not the RCD (or GFCI as we call them)

    I would say highly possible. As to the reason for its demise, idk. Let's wait for 73's de Edds expert opinion on the matter. In the meantime, check the surrounding components c44, c74, D24 as well (if you haven't already)

    Then search for an auto resetting fuse or circuit breaker for the voltage and current ratings you need. If you try to make one yourself you won't know if it will be safe or reliable.

    I would call it a dangerous hacked fuse. I'm all for finding workarounds and saving money, but I wouldn't think of making something like this. It's not wise to guess at how much current your fuse will limit, or wither it will work at all. Just buy the proper fuse for crying out loud!

    I think one can never have enough tools, but honestly it's not really necessary. I would much rather a good quality iron than a Chinese quality iron or heat gun. I believe the trick to have the right heat range. A heat gun is probably too hot. You want an iron hot enough to bring the solder...

    ±μΩ I have a dumb question to ask. How do you enter the characters ±μΩ on the fly while typing? When I try to enter them they always pop up at the beginning like this (see first 3 characters).

    like I said I use stainless steel ties, or aircraft cable (over it)to secure it from sliding off the splice. I wouldn't use tape (over it) because it usually starts to unravel. But, using tape over the crimp but under the sleeve is ideal to make a nice smooth (no big lump) base for the sleeve.

    I guess you missed my last post. Yes, It's best to remove it, or lift one leg of diode to test. This will isolate it and eliminate parallel readings. Best to use diode test function for testing. You should read a drop of about .3v forward biased, and infinite in the opposite direction.

    Yes, ic30 is a AK5358BET adc. I'd believe you'd want to read the digital output stream of pin 9 with a scope. Hopefully one of the more knowledgeable guys will chime in here.
