    Samsung inverter board LED Fail

...and someone to fit it..... this requires vacuum pumps and refrigerant plus (probably) a new evaporator. The pump fitting also requires to be solder/brazed to the existing pipework. Do you get all that for your $150?

Are Deoxit contact cleaners worth the money?

Yup - I use Servisol on contacts inside vintage radio sets (band switching) and they clean them up great. Not found another product that does it as good as Servisol does.

    28MT49S

Yup, looks like the red signal is missing some 'bits'. Could be a cabling issue - try replacing the twisted pairs (or ribbon cable) between the LVDS port and the display and/or check for missing/bad connections at the relevant pins therein.

refraining from off topics in the lounge.... "What are the chances"...

Depends on your skill set - as ever . Given there is more than one way to skin a cat, applying a different solution to a given problem offers endless opportunity but equally shows that there is no 'right' way nor any chance that anyone other than the observer can make that decision...

    Bush DAB /FM Radio

What's on the reverse of that board? I can see the main processor (large chip) and the other looks to be a memory chip to store last-programmed values, volume settings etc after switch-off. The audio amp is not likely to be part of either of those devices so there's got to be something on the...

Making a BULK Floppy Eraser ???

For any disk to be useful it also has to be formatted. As slow as the process might be, since you're not expecting to move 'hundreds of them'(?), perhaps using a program that 'washes' as well as formats them would be more appropriate anyway? This would also necessarily 'guarantee' them as...

Does it have a headphone socket and, if it does, does the audio come from it ok?

Curious to know what market there is for used, bulk erased floppy disks!

Yamaha RX-570 receiver power failure needs support

What makes you think that? Have you done all the 'simple' checks i.e. fuses, the switch itself? Beyond that it will require dismantling, a test meter, the understanding on how to use one and interpret the readings and, ideally, a schematic. At the very least a close-up, high resolution...

    Fridge compressor test....

What are you using to define 'good'? Continuity is one thing but a short circuit is continuity too. If you know the compressor details maybe the manufacturer provides detailed information on winding resistance? Most problems - if the compressor is still running - stem from loss of gas in...

Yamaha A-960 II Integrated Amp Won't power on

Probably not the power supply itself - it's doing it's job by shutting down due to an overload (fault) condition. Usual suspects are the output transistors which, being independent devices, are easily checked and replaced.

    28MT49S

Show an image of a proper test card or colour stripes from a colour pattern generator. This is the only way to determine if the colours are correct. You can probably get one from a PC program (or make your own static picture and put it in the VGA port on the TV).

    Battery Charger rewire help

If it really is a 200A charger then the controller is absolutely necessary to save the wiring, the battery and the user from potentially dangerous overloads. Bypassing it is not a good thing to attempt and we wouldn't condone such actions anyway. If it's a typo and only 20A, well, that's still...

Issues with replacing Dead Laptop Motherboard...

Did you test the power pack (on load)? I've often found dodgy power packs are the cause of a problem and not the actual PC/laptop.

    12 v fridge controllers

The probable reason for junking the freezers is that a failure in the drive board inevitably ruins one of the motors phase windings and replacement of the board alone won't fix the issue. A new compressor motor is also needed. You can only imagine the cost of parts and fitting........

Who Here is into Arduino & Raspberry Pi. Are You Also Serious About Electronics?

If you want to hide then going elsewhere than a public forum is the way to do it. I can't figure you (or your intent) out. Much of what you post is 'gibberish' and not conducive to forming a proper response - such as: Advice doesn't seem to do anything (not just mine) for your situation so...

Not impressed with these new changes. Why couldn't the 'new' site have just been incorporated without changing 'everything'? Even the 'old' version isn't the old version! If it ain't broke etc.......... I understand the need for change but who are you trying to p-off? The new members or the...
