HAM Radio Relevance Currently and Personal Reflections.

That’s correct. It’s not the only way. But if you’re into ham radio, it might be the only way you WANT to communicate. Just because technology has moved forward doesn’t mean you have to change how you communicate. Many ham’s have nice setups AND SDR too. Doesn’t mean they use SDR more or even...

    capacitor replacement help

Sure, go ahead and buy the cheap LCR meter. I would go further and buy several different inductors and try them all with exactly the same set up. My Ohm (UK) monitors were expensive back in the day and sound great with my Denon amp. My Mission speakers sound much better through my old Marantz...

    capacitor replacement help

Yeah, buying from a reputable source would be RS Components, Digikey, Farnell etc not hificollective!. No wonder you pay through the nose:). Apparently, an audio grade inductor should be a solid core construction to avoid microphony. Then they say air core is audio grade. I wonder if...

Sansui 7070 Left and Right Output Issue

You are telling us about ‘C07 & R33 etc. We don’t have the schematic or board in front of us. If you can, lift a leg of the resistor out of circuit to measure it. The measurements can be influenced by other components. Are C07 and C08 in series?. Did you clean the pots and switches before...

Sansui 7070 Left and Right Output Issue

Welcome @coastman49 , You seem to know what you are doing. 17mV is not excessive but may show signs of oxidation on the trim pots. Were they extremely sensitive to adjust?. Try cleaning them. I personally would have brought the mains voltage up slowly over 20 minutes or so as it’s an old unit...
