    Could that leads-to-chassis resistance be the forward resistance of the high voltage diode, assuming your microwave is similar to this ?

    If the circuit is powered up, then connecting/disconnecting 12V from the PWM input should turn the green LED on/off. If the green LED stays on when there is no connection to the PWM input then there is a wiring fault or possibly D4 is shorted or leaky.

    That could be good or bad, depending what you are measuring. Good if cable continuity: bad if heating element resistance.

    I don't follow your theory or see how it relates to the truth table shown. How would you produce the 8:3 prority encoder using only AND gates?

    The Boolean logic will dictate which type of gate is used. In the case of the 8:3 priority encoder shown, only 3 4-input OR gates are needed. You could build the encoder using NAND gates, but I'm pretty sure you'd need a lot more gates.

    That's a job for a MCU. Condition the signals to be within the allowed analogue input range of the MCU, use an A-to-D converter in the MCU to get digital values, store the digital values for later conversion back to analoge by a D-to-A converter. Can you program an MCU?

    Sounds as though your meter resistance or body capacitance was affecting the circuit enough to get oscillations going. Strange.     Create the post #1 schematic in LTspice and use the component values Audioguru used. We don't do your homework. What help do you need? Show us your best effort at finding the answer.

    Looks as though something in the area of IC901 is wrong then. Don't know what else to suggest. Poking which zener enabled things to 'work'? 911, 905, 906 or 902?

    Restrictions affecting flow rate into and out of the tank, or introducing turbulence of the flow? Temperature gradients within the tank? Distortion under pressure of contents? Anti-slosh baffles? Removable hatch/panel for intrnal access?

    Both. Internally of the sphere the field will be static, if you neglect the influence of external fields such as that of the Earth.
