    Electromagnetic Fields

You really need to be doing more research yourself and then ask specific questions regarding what you have learned. What you are asking can be generalised but it won't be very informative. You need to do more work yourself otherwise others on here might consider you very lazy. Adam

    Electronics homework

I think you will find you choose them as part of your design. So it's the temperature of the heat sink you can tolerate that will determine its size. And ambient well say 25 degrees and a temp of 50 degrees on the heat sink, these are just examples mind. Thanks Adam

    LED strips help required

I will say bloody Chinese when they waste 2 days of my time. It's not a general statement it's a fact that China produce more fake produce than any other country. Don't get me wrong I like the Chinese and their culture, I too would love to visit China. But it still won't stop me swearing at them...

Yes they should work Lee, but if they don't you might have to replace them. I did Chinese for 5 years :)

    LED strips help required

Hi Lee, make sure you bought a genuine nano. Some have fake FTDI chips on them. I had this problem and found out they were fake. Windows recognises the fake FTDI IC and blocks it after the first use. Took me two days to work out what was going on. https://www.sparkfun.com/news/1629...

    Grounding design

I know I have seen some manufactures mention this. It might be because it's easier to explain and for the user to implement. D.C currents tend to spread out on the return plane where as A.C currents take the path of least impedance which is usually the path with the lowest loop inductance. This...

    Grounding design

My opinion on this Rlocus is that a split set of power 0 Volt planes is old fashioned and used to be used before people actually understood how the signal propagated. Made sense I guess at the time they had no other theory, bit like the don't use 90 degree bends in track rule, that is a myth...

Hey Lee. Looks ok, when you get them, power them from 12 Volts to make sure they work then we can take it from there. Adam

LT Spice is a good free simulator. It's not very visual but you can probe the points for voltages and currents and wattage. Tina Ti is another good one. http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/?gclid=CPP7h9r4yswCFawy0wodygkNuw#LTspice http://www.ti.com/tool/tina-ti Adam

Can someone please explain this circuit for me?

Do you not have the reference website for this PSU. It will take some time to go through this to work out all the values chosen. Adam
