    Do you have any technical information for the controller? A schematic perhaps? We need to know what the button actually does.... if it is a 'signal' source it is often possible to use a capacitor/resistor to create a start pulse.

    You can get movement alarms that are self-controlled and sound off if the items are moved. Given the limited range of a bluetooth solution it would seem more appropriate to go for the KISS principle and just listen for the alert!

    The only 'standard' size pcb housing I've seen is for Eurocard (100mm x 160mm) - I haven't heard of a 50mm x 70mm standard. Still, this is, as you say, a chicken/egg situation that could only be resolved if you knew the end-product and the final box dimensions.
