    Best bet would be to get one of those universal LCD driver boards for the LCD you actually have - get one with an input that your (dud) TV set can actually output i.e. composite video, HDMI-out etc.

    zebra strip is sized to suit the gap - not all pieces will fit. Can you show a picture of the LCD side? Maybe the strip is still adhering to the other part of the unit? They are commonly in a molded plastic 'slot' anyway.

    You may not be able to get rid of it - it seems as if one memory location is faulty. This happens (occasionally) and all you can do is replace the processor.

    Look at the 'condition' of the switches and tell us which 'action' is actually causing the event. The key is the 'edges' of the signal.

    Too non-specific. You don't usually purchase an enclosure 'exactly' the size of the PCB. What controls are required? Inputs? Outputs? You'd normally only purchase an enclosure for a completed PCB/project rather than 'in advance' for bare boards......

    If you have the old belt it is common practice to visit stores that carry such spares and just 'match it up' to anything they have off the shelf. There may even be some markings on the belt to give pointers to it's size etc.

    The cigarette lighter socket will be fused at 10A, possibly 20A maximum therefore limiting the power to 120/240 watts (less in reality and certainly less for safety sake). Power inverters really should be wired directly to the battery and have uprated wiring and appropriate fusing at the battery.

    Rectifier seems most likely. There will be AC across two pins and DC out the middle one. This DC will go to one of the capacitors you removed. Put the capacitor back and see if you can measure anything across it.
