Any through-hole microcontrollers which are programmable via USB?

Why not just use an SMD-to-DIP adapter board and solder whatever device you want onto a carrier that allows you to plug into a breadboard?

16 x 2 alphanumeric LCD display is not working

The 2 and 4-line displays are via the same pinout connector but use different (Additional) registers for the different lines in use. The OP may simply have failed to readjust the contrast setting for the different devices.

Repair Vintage DC Power Supply, Sorensen DCR-B series 2700-Watt 600-4.5B

Do you have any experience working with such voltages? Check the reference voltage first.

Unknown Fairchild Semiconductor component? Need for a new one.

Dragging up a post that's 7 years old????? Pretty good assumption......

HOW DO I SHIELD MYSELF FROM A NEIGHBOURS SMART METER?

No doubt at a silly price and with absolutely zero use other than profit for the scammers that sold into you. You can either take the word of con artists or the word of people on here who have 100s of years of collective knowledge on such subjects.....

Trying to identify something that resembles a transformer!

Just Google auto transformer. They all work on the same principle regardless of size.

    Ecu repair

ECUs will have over voltage an (probably) reverse polarity protection fitted. When they are called into use they generally fail to a short or open status and those defective parts should be identifiable. There will be dedicated serial data comms devices too - Google the protocol to see how the...

Trying to identify something that resembles a transformer!

@hexreader has it right. Unless you're familiar with auto-transformers and the issues they create then it's not worth your life to put it to any reasonable use.

What exactly is the difference between these two omron relays?

If the relays have the right coil voltage, the correct contact arrangement and (perhaps) the appropriate pin spacing then decide whether you need one that is 'approved' or not - I suggest neither makes a bit of difference to you so I'd chose the CHEAPEST relay.

    parallel cellphone chargers

This sounds like the stall current i.e. the maximum current. Best power supply for motors is a linear PSU i.e. derived from an old style laminated transformer unit and NOT the Switched Mode versions that are identified by being 'light weight' (in size and performance). There are still such...

What exactly is the difference between these two omron relays?

The question should be "what is it YOU want from these relays"?

    Ecu repair

I'm surprised you have so many issues with ECUs - they are generally very reliable. Either way, finding information on them is almost impossible although visible damage such a blown FETs should be straightforward unless the reason is elsewhere.

    parallel cellphone chargers

Test the power packs individually - they should be capable of driving the motor under no-load conditions. You'd only need the 4A for heavy loads on the motor. Some phone power packs might detect the motor as a short-circuit and not output anything. Try adding a large electrolytic capacitor...

    Newbie Question Regarding Reed Switches/Sensors

Those Farnell parts are still only 500mA. Motors are notorious for 'variable' power consumption. Stalling them can make it an effective 'short-circuit' situation and the current is only limited by the motor winding resistance which is usually very low so current can be very HIGH. A MOSFET can...

    Microcontroller LED project.

It's not so much the individual port current capability as the packages overall power dissipation limit. You can't run ALL the ports at the maximum as you exceed the total power dissipation limit. It's also not wise to use the absolute maximum (theoretical anyway) values for reliability...

Printing on cartoon box with industrial printer

Computers can muti-task. Running a printer and an interface to detect the carton is easy. Find an interface that fits with whatever port your PC has spare/available - serial, parallel, USB etc. Just Google for serial (or USB etc) interface unit. They are usually supplied with controlling...
