LED Christmas Village lighting help needed!

Chose a power pack that can deliver AT LEAST the wattage total of the LEDs you plan to use i.e. 30 LEDs at 3W = 90W so you need a power pack that can deliver at least 90 (I'd advise getting one that is 50% larger than the intended consumption) so around 120W. Old laptop power packs ar egood for...

    Newbie Question Regarding Reed Switches/Sensors

A reed switch can carry up to 500mA (half an amp) but we don't know the specification for your motor..... Either way, the reed switch could be used to power a switching transistor (or MOSFET - logic level mosfets would work) that could drive your motor. This reduces the current through the...

    Measuring Current using Resistor

I get the impression the OP used 250Ω to get the particular maximum range of 20mA at 5V for the processor A-D converter...... Using a much lower value resistor and scaling it using an op-amp would have been better but there are also integrated solutions for current measurement these days anyway....

    Measuring Current using Resistor

The resistor needs to be in series with the supply to measure current and at 20mA a 250ohm resistor is dropping 5V which my be affecting her circut in use.

RLC Filter for Power Decoupling and Current Sensing

You want to work with AI but can't figure out the power supply/monitoring issues? You are almost obsessing over them too... Are you sure you know what it is you want to achieve? Draft a full block diagram, indicate each active device (IC number/type) you want to form the central part of...

when you learnt and become pro, did anything amazing happen?

I went into pro radio comms as an amateur radio enthusiast so wasn't entirely clueless. I could already design (simple) receivers and transmitters before attending college but learned more theory there. My knowledge of microprocessors was also self taught (I was in at the start i.e. the 8080...

    bluetooth module on digital amp

Does the amp have a separate audio input socket? If so you can tap into that for the signal input otherwise you'd normally look for the volume control (assuming it's an analog version and not digital) and tap into the amplifier input at that point. You should get the schematic of the equipment...

when you learnt and become pro, did anything amazing happen?

I imagine there would be many and varied responses to this query..... Personally I was a stay-at-home kinda kid myself but enrolled into college to train as a radio operator (deep sea oil tankers) that first took me away from home to training college (all paid for by my sponsor employers) and...

RLC Filter for Power Decoupling and Current Sensing

Still over-thinking your design..... Is there really a need to measure current to μA levels? Any linear regulator - including LDO devices - require some overhead to work. It won't work using the same input voltage as the output.

Carbon brushes for the commutator that is.... Most are easily replaced and googling the model and 'spares' should result in some local supplier.

Sounds like the motor needs new brushes.

    Resistor Value

The last band may be temperature coefficient although 'white' isn't such a colour - maybe the resistor is/has suffered some heat stress and changed from something else?

    Transistors, Triacs, and Thyristors

Most thyristors read as low ohms resistors when measured using those Chinese component testers. The isolated/nonisolated may refer to the packaging where some higher powered devices are totally plastic encapsulated with no terminal connected to the body of the device. Makes for easier mounting...

Make experiments safer, my workshop and concepts relevant in my opinion

Of course we must all fill our lives to make our presence here worthwhile but a load of half finished items will never succeed you as a fully completed item would. A legacy if you will. Regardless, we each do what we want in order to make us happy while we are here - I certainly do! and my...

Printing on cartoon box with industrial printer

What kind of information? Have you asked the manufacturer or downloaded their operator manual (I don't know if one is available but most are)? Printing is printing. The only difference between 'ordinary' printing and carton printing is the gap between printhead and paper - usually meaning an...
