    Weller is probably the best-known. You want something with adjustable temperature and ability to interchange different types of tips. Wellers are expensive new, you can probably find a usable one on ebay, but you never know for sure what shape it might be in.

    Just a guess here, better pictures would help. Could the diodes be 1N4002? If you Googled the pots, some place called Oak Tree Enterprises says they have them for $25 each (Which is unsually high). Do you have an ohmeter, to determine the resistance of the pots (or know somebody who does)...

    Weller's still in business. Google their website. In some of the latest stuff I've seen, a black handle is usually for ESD work, but Weller can tell you.

    No way to tell. Only whomever had them made, knows. Since they're six-lead cans, they might be dual transistors in a can. You might use an ohmeter to check on that. If you've got access to a curve-tracer, you might be able to get some specs on them.
