    Resistor replacement

If you're actually reading the marking on the component, you've probably got it right. What worried others here, I think, is that circa 1985 components that were large and green plastic encapsulated components, were a lot of inductors and some capacitors. That's what made us wonder about...

    Resistor replacement

I don't know where you're at to recommend a supplier. Do you have any electronic supply repair stores in your area? If the values you gave are correct, you should not have a problem obtaining this part from almost anywhere that sells electronic parts. Your physical description has some of us...

    Resistor replacement

Caps are marked in micro-farads (ie: mfd, ufd, something like that). You're looking at a green, ceramic, 47 ohm, 2W RESISTOR, with a 5% tolerance.

    Thoughts on Forum Sections

I'll just resubmit my old request. I'd like to see a semiconductor cross-reference section. I sent *steve* a Hewlett Packard and Tektronix cross ref last time, but don't think it made it to the website. Both of them can be found openly on the web, but you have to hunt for them. If we got...

    Slip ring wear

I don't THIINK the polarity has anything to do with it. I would assume it's physical wear from the commutator. Do you see any scrap marks or uneven wear at the slip rings? Is the bearing at that end worn, and allowing excessive play in the shaft that's wearing the outside slip ring more...

    Logitech Z5500 diagnosis help

You've already got it apart, and capacitors are cheap. Just replace the questionable ones. My kid used Logitech speakers years ago. While they sound good, they had their finicky attributes. I'd replace the caps, and if it doesn't fix the problem, start looking at the semi-conductors. (Your...

    circuit help

Probably, what do you need help with? I think a lot of your questions could be answered by Googleing the data sheets for the devices. With the pin-outs known, a lot of your questions would probably be answered.

Got a couple bags of resistors, and don't know who made them. Does anybody know what company uses the following code to identify their parts? RC1R7401PR2W (1.74K Ohm) RC4R75K01PR2W (4.75K Ohm) Thanks

Can I replace a glass fuse with a ceramic fuse?

    1) Yes, the fuse should open after a small amount of time above .63A 2) Yes, the fuse will meet it's specs at 250V or less. 3) Your fuse holder is the international shock-safe type, so it's enclosed, and it's not really any safer to use a ceramic over glass fuse for your application. 4)...

    Connector question

I don't know where you're at. There are plenty of computer parts stores near where I live. If you can't physically take it in, and have somebody in a parts store try to match it up, you'll have to measure the spacing between the pins (the 'pitch', and Google for an equivalent. It's easy to...

You've obviously lost voltage regulation. Start with the easy stuff first. Closely examine the bad power supply. Do you see any burned parts?

Is this a high switching frequency DC-DC converter issue? ESR vs Frequency is a factor if your converter switching freq is above 1MHZ.

Looking For RCA Video/Mono Audio Input Jack For TV

OOooooo,.... Sacrilege. Maybe you had video problems not associated with the RCA jack, but we never give up that easy, without at least a fight. Where's your respect and appreciation for all those Japanese engineers and technicians who designed and built that state-of-the-art audio/visual...
