    Why were you testing the LED? They are usually very reliable. If the circuit wan't working properly it is unlikely to be the LED that caused the fault.....

    You can only use a resistor if the motor is driving a steady, unchanging load as if the load changes then the resistance required to maintain a constant speed will also need to change. This is why motor speed control is normally done using a 'controller' rather than a simple resistor.

    Your voltage stick will only detect AC - the input to the primary side of the PSU. DO you have a test meter to check the OUTPUT of the power supply section?

    You need to measure the voltage AND current from the turbines to make a sensible determination. As the manufacturer stated, the converters will need a minimum POWER input to operate correctly and power is the voltage multiplied by the current so if the first turbine/converter kicked in at 4V...

    Did you load the outputs prior to testing? Such PSUs usually require a minimum load in order for the regulation circuitry to kick in. Is there a separate regulator device for the 5V output? If so, it could just be a simple matter of replacement.

    The GH16D doesn't have a version that exceeds 5V output so there's definitely something amiss there. If the output really IS as high as you measured then it most likely will have damaged circuitry elsewhere - probably 'fatally'.

    Those projectors have many protection circuits built-in to them - they can operate when the lamp is blown, over heating, short-circuit, over-voltage etc. Check all the usual suspects first (as per the instruction manual) before condemning the power supply.

    5V - 4.2V (average LED voltage) = 0.8 0.8/0.35 (volts to drop divided by current flow) = 2.2Ω resistor required. 0.35 x 0.35 x 2.2 (current squared times the resistance) = 0.27 - nearest wattage would be 0.5W. As above though - if you want longevity and reliability then get the correct driver.

    You could take a small battery (9V) and a single resistor (1kΩ) and connect them to each LED sequentially (observing polarity of course). Each LED should light up - the one that doesn't may be breaking a series circuit preventing the rest from working.
