    Wow...he calls it the Scariac!!

Natural selection plays an important role in mitigating people that are so utterly stupid. Sadly, others also fall victim to their shenanigans just from their proximity. (Usually by fire)

    Wow...he calls it the Scariac!!

At least you guys don't have to worry about changing the electrolyte in your variac. Lol. The Jacobs ladder goes along well with it. Both are dangerous as @$#€!

    Wow...he calls it the Scariac!!

Wow, Not exactly what you'd call UL approved. Lol A side from the possibility of people getting electrocuted, there will be people burning up motors by running them under voltage.

Not enough current to trigger relay.

Yes, true. Everything else works fine on my phone. Anyway, I hope you'll excuse my asking where a member is located, from time to time. PS: It also doesn't show under their profile.

Not enough current to trigger relay.

Yes, but does not show on my screen. No, I can't see anybody's flags. Perhaps I need to update java script? All I see is; member name, status, and Avatar.

Not enough current to trigger relay.

How about a 12v reed relay? The coil current is only about 12ma and the contacts should easily handle your horn.

In the US the ringer signal is 90vac 20hz. I wish the country of origin was listed in the header of each post for clarification.

Anyone try to make a new auto battery charger "old school" ?

I have added a manual override button to an oem battery charger (golf cart). When I get a battery that is nearly completely dead, I hold down my override button for about 30 seconds or so, to bring up the battery voltage to an acceptable level so the charging board will initiate a charge...

TV commercial automatic muting device design ideas

Provided there are not similar dark scenes in the program your watching. I watch mostly prerecorded stuff on my dvr, so its one push of a button to skip over commercials. Ps: Old Steve!, You've changed!!

Total beginner... so I don't know if what I want to do is easy or hard!

You'll want to sort this out and make sure the motor shaft is spinning freely before proceeding.

TV commercial automatic muting device design ideas

This one is pretty cool. But you would have to write code for every commercial soundtrack you want to mute. The idea of muting based on color or sound level does not seem feasible.

Just isolate the wires (remembering their location) and check for continuity between line 1 (capacitor), and the other two wires (either 2, or 3). That will be the other side of start winding. The centrifugal switch is closed when the motor is stopped. John

If your diagram is acurate, you can swap line 1 and 2 (start winding). That click noise you hear is probably the Centrifical Switch. ps; I apologize for our politically incorrect trade names in these parts.
