Win Enterprises PL-10000-0 (computer) need power supply

I couldn’t edit my post on my phone. An old tower PC ATX power supply would be more than adequate for you to repurpose. You need to find out the pin voltages though. Martin

Win Enterprises PL-10000-0 (computer) need power supply

The power supply has +5V, +12V and - (negative) 12V. The current in Amps and mA is what the unit requires. Having more current available is fine as the unit will only draw what it requires. Eg. +5V @10A. You will certainly need to access the underside of the pcb at some point to find out which...

Question hdd badblock interference and dvd burn

Low level programming language namely DOS detects unreadable or unwriteable sectors on older PCs. Those sectors are then blocked by the OS from reading or writing. I can’t be sure, but I think XP was the last OS to have DOS available to the user. Martin

    tantalus capacitor doubt

I think you @johnmullins should contact @gamer87 . Together you two can save and store safely old Gaming devices. 1. You can’t stop old plastic becoming brittle or yellowing. 2. You can’t stop batteries dieing over time. 3. Electrolytic capacitors will eventually dry out and fail. 4. Some...

    Weird Voltage divider issue

This implies you are NOT using the breadboard. How did you connect the components?. The resistor you replaced, did you measure it with your meter?. Was it faulty?. As already mentioned, using thicker wire or thicker legged components in the breadboard will cause bad connections for thinner...

Bought Massage Chair Blowing Fuses Capacitor Destroyed

Yes, it’s to suppress transient voltages. It’s designed to fail short circuit and blow the fuse. Hence removing it, removes the short. Martin

Powering car 5000w 500rms amplier and with xbox 360 psu

Generally speaking, you can wire them in parallel as long as they are the same specs. Can you give a link to the amp?. I don’t think it would draw 400A peak somehow. Or above 40A with the specs you gave. Out of curiosity, what fuse does the amp have?. Martin

Bought Massage Chair Blowing Fuses Capacitor Destroyed

Judging by your new photos, the device with a hole is a MOV (varistor). It is possible that it was shorted and now it’s blown open circuit. Can you power up the board without chair connected?. Martin

Bought Massage Chair Blowing Fuses Capacitor Destroyed

Can you see any reference on the PCB or symbol next to the component?. Can you see how it’s connected?. Is it inline or is it across the the live and neutral?. It could be a MOV. If inline (series), for testing purposes only, you can short the thermistor. If a MOV, you can cut it out of...

Bought Massage Chair Blowing Fuses Capacitor Destroyed

I am sure, you being the sparky, can find the short. I would start looking at areas where the wires are near moving parts and could get snagged/damaged. But you need to also know whether the board has a short on it. The thermistor (if it is one) will have resistance that changes if you heat it...

Bought Massage Chair Blowing Fuses Capacitor Destroyed

Hi Mrelectric, it looks like a thermistor. You can use your multimeter and check for a short across the live and neutral lines. If shorted, remove it from the PCB and check the lines again for a short. Martin
