Voltage Regulator Problem on Moving Head mainboard

My Google has suffered the same fate!. Absolutely nothing. Shame you don’t have another to compare with. My mobile disco had two of everthing for symmetry. Do you have any other equipment by Chauvet?, they probably use custom or disguised components. Latter more likely. Edit: I have a Chauvet...

Bad life fitness 93TI treadmill motor control board.

A 60W iron for this is way too much and with very little experience, you’ll likely damage the component or pcb pad. A smaller wattage iron like 18W - 25w with solder sucker would be much more suitable. But try the allen key first. Martin

Bad life fitness 93TI treadmill motor control board.

You can certainly try cutting one to see. An easy solution for some would be to de-solder the pins from the pcb and lift it off the component. But try your idea first. It may be quite easy once cut. Martin

Bad life fitness 93TI treadmill motor control board.

The finned heatsink, can you see any screws going through/towards the main pcb?. There is the (white block) an IGBT module. It might be secured directly to the heatsink plus thermal compound. Remove all screws from stand-offs sandwiched between pcb and aluminium panel. I can’t see clearly but...

GPS receiver board - can I remove the SMA connector?

I am really not sure. I read that the connector has a 50 ohm impedence. Wiki. I know for audio, (older) a power resistor as a dummy load is used rather than the speaker while servicing. Likewise, not to transmit a radio without an antenna or dummy load. Martin

GPS receiver board - can I remove the SMA connector?

A 50 Ohm resistor should be all that’s required. Martin

GPS receiver board - can I remove the SMA connector?

You may find the SMA connector has a 50 Ohm impedence. If you remove it you will have to match the impedence. But I would measure it to see if it has or not. There might be a 50 Ohm resistor next to it on the board. Martin

How to make ID popup on screen when scanning QR Code

If you are the only person that wants to go paperless, the burden should be on you to implement changes. I have never played with QR codes but it seems javascript can generate popups. I found this quite interesting. Martin

    Chasing down excessive power consumption

A few years ago I had the Martindale fuse finder set. A nice helpful piece of kit for labelling consumer units. But your scenario is different and simple. As stated by so many others, turn the breaker off and see what doesn’t work. Only you know what appliances, sockets and lights are in the...

    Chasing down excessive power consumption

I think @Alec_t answered your question. An electrician wiuld find the circuit that is causing problems by eliminating one by one. You can do this by turning off all the breakers and switching on one by one. Martin

    A Stretch

I thought you had tried different op-amps from your assortment?. Obviously changing the pin arrangement. Did you try testing them?. I don’t think you are reading all replies. If the circuit worked for a bit on breadboard, it must be connections. Try not to be sensitive, push the connections in...
