    Perhaps you could try a ‘start capacitor’. Borrow it from your compressor or washing machine to see if it helps. That is what they are for. They help starting and eliminate the in rush. Martin

    A crack in the potting/resin encapsulation doesn’t mean the unit is dead. It could be a surface crack. As you said, Windows detects it. What about all the other questions? Martin

    AHD is analog high definition. Have you tried plugging in a cam corder to the RCA’s. They may not accept analog signal. Which is why you would need a video to vga converter. Martin

    Forgot to mention, might be worth checking the flex cable for continuity or shorts. I have seen people pull their pumps around ponds or flooded basements using the flex. Don’t ask me how I know !. Doesn’t explain the smoke though. Should have just tripped straight away. Martin

    I had the same problem with the ‘artisan’. A decent switch cleaner worked on mine. Spray it in the slider crevice and move the slider back and fourth several times. This will only work if the slider tracks are not pitted or burnt. But surely worth a try as these kettles are really expensive. Martin

    If you need that exact board, you’ll need to know what it was used in or taken from. Modules (usually) have header pins for easy, quick, solderless connections. My advice would be to WWW search for wifi boards. Then check through ‘images’. You might find the exact board. Martin
