    AC power limiting circuit

What about a simple light sensor fitted into the light fitting. The change in brightness that a sensor will see is likely to be quite significant between larger wattage standard bulbs. Or maybe a temperature sensor of some kind. Adam

    help eliminating oscillation in circuit

"I'm running out of ideas" Yeah me too. It must be a construction issue or just inherent noise in the circuit. Can you show a scope trace of your noise and show us how and where the scope is connected. Adam

Need a Signal from a Diesel Injector

Ok so it could be as simple as a passive integrator then. The problem comes if the frequency of the injector timing changes, will this happen? Do you know the frequency of the injector square wave? Adam

Need a Signal from a Diesel Injector

My first thought would be to use an opto isolator whose output is configured as a common collector this will provide a good deal of isolation to the rest of the circuit. How pure dose the triangle/sawtooth waveform have to be? Adam

    help eliminating oscillation in circuit

Could you have long wires which is picking up interference? Might be noise be coupled into the ground wire of the scope probe. Connect the scope ground clip to the probe tip and move it around close to the PCB, do you see anything? What power supply are you using and can you run from a battery...

Can you supply a circuit diagram and maybe a couple of good pictures. Adam

    help eliminating oscillation in circuit

So what's the circuit suppose to look like? Dave do you feel the corrections you made to my redrawn circuit are they correct? I feel the same as Steve about the purpose of the reference, but it's not the way I would do it but hey we are all different, well that's what my missus keeps telling me...

    help eliminating oscillation in circuit

I think that might have been intentional maybe for some form of control loop? Let see what the OP says. Adam

Thanks Dave, Ti are a nightmare with their opamp power connections. I don't know why they do that. Adam

    help eliminating oscillation in circuit

I hope you don't mind I have redrawn your circuit, please let me know if it's correct. Can you tell us what it is suppose to do, and why you have done what you have done. I could change the component idents if you want but we can still see what it does. Thanks Adam [Mod Edit .... a couple...

    help eliminating oscillation in circuit

I must admit the circuit could do with a little tidy up. Let me see if I can help! Adam

Wind turbine - wind speed needed to achieve the rated power.

You have a 5MW wind turbine, you serious? They have 126m wing span. If you do then it's quite easy to work out available power, how you manage this power depends on your turbine. So it's this: l=Blade Width in meters v= Wind velocity in meters/second p=Air Density in Kg/meters^3 Cp= Power...

Need help with a proof of concept prototype.

Here is something that might work. It might look complicated but it's not really. You don't need to be a programmer and it doesn't use a 555 timer :) The circuit is just an idea I had so might need a bit of tweaking. You will have to choose the IR devices yourself and you may need to modify the...

    Best places to get supplies?

Try CPC if you have one over there or something similar. Some cables are available to buy by the meter. Example: http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-power/cbbr6312/four-core-ind-lap-screened-audio/dp/CBBR6405?in_merch=Featured Products Thanks Adam

Use Capacitive Sensing to detect a train?

You would have to add a small metal plate for it to detect. How much clearance do you have from the underside of the stock to the track? Adam
