Detecting a bullet for velocity calculation

You will need some special circuitry for that. Do you know how small that is? To put it in context a 2K resistor at 20deg C will produce about 800nV of noise when not even connected to anything. How have you worked out it might be that small? Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Do you think a flyback diode would be prudent on the output? Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Would you need a current limit resistor so when the POT is up the top of its travel to limit base current? Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Thats a good one Kris. But if the supply changes a bit under load then this will be seen on the output ,dependant on wiper position. Is this ok l dont know? Adam

You again :) don't you watch TV? LoL

    Nand Gate oscillator help

If the circuit posted is right then you have not connected it correctly. You have a resitor between pins 1 and 3, also both ends of the capacitor connect to a pin on the IC. Look at your connection again. look at R3 R4 C2 Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Yeah I get that, but earlier suggestion of a voltage source would be better. This reduces the size and cost of the POT. That's what I meant. Cheers Adam

    Nand Gate oscillator help

Of course it might be flashing very quickly due to incorrect values of components? Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

If you insist on using just a POT then yes you can get them with a on off switch. I have only seen low power versions, not sure if they do wire wound POTs with a power switch. You will have to Google it. Adam

It is designed to run off of 12VDC, I would like it to run off 24VDC

The Zener is a good Idea. But you lose the wally diode. Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Ok tell us what power supply they use for them that will help us. There are more than two ways to skin a a cat. Adam

It is designed to run off of 12VDC, I would like it to run off 24VDC

You only need to change the voltage to the relay if its a 12V type. Adding a resistor will do this but it will waste a lot of energy. Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Hi Yes if you want to call it more robust, thats a good name. We need to know the spec of the motor which will decide the value and power rating of the POT. Adam

Variable voltage dropper for speed control of tattoo machine

Hello So its to slow down the tatoo motor I guess? This will work but its worth knowing how much current the unit draws. Otherwise it could damage the POT if you choose one thats too lower power rating. A better option is to use a variable current or voltage source that you could vary using...

    Roland Amp Satellite Speaker problem

Hello We can help but it would be good if we could get hold of a circuit diagram and also some clear pictures of the PCB on both sides. What is the model number of the Amp. Adam

Why do you want to do this? You waste energy doing this. Thanks Adam
