    tinyTesla: DIY kit for beginners

Well if it's a well made kit it should work, have a look on YouTube or Google it for some reviews. If all is ok, give it a go. I am sure we could get it going on here if you are having trouble. Good luck :) Adam

    tinyTesla: DIY kit for beginners

Hello Are there any areas of electronics that really interest you. Like the physics of electronics, Analogue electronics, digital electronics. There are quite a few companies that sell electronic kits. Where abouts are you? Here is one company that's been going years...

    3G wireless broad band extension

Have you looked at USB active repeaters. Also what about USB to Ethernet then you could run a very long cable and then convert it back to USB at the other end? Just a thought Adam

relationship between Switching charge (Qsw) and MOSFET loss??

When driving inductive loads a resistor is sometimes used to slow down the turn on time to reduce shoot through current from diodes that have clamped the flyback energy. Especially important in PWM motor drive in H-Bridge configuration when the Mosfets intrinsic diode is used. There will always...

    Component suppliers

CPC used to be like a big Maplin years ago and then they got bought out by Farnell. But they still stock all the Maplin type of things. They also used to do spares for TVs but not sure anymore. They are still a good supplier to have because I always say, "if all else fails try Digikey or CPC" :)...

PIC weak pull-ups on battery power with voltage divider

Another option is to use a zener diode regulator for acceptable voltage regulation for low power circuits. It is a cheap alternative to a regulator but depending on the current demands of the circuit which maybe consist of a duty cycle of increased current on and off. The zener diode in the...

What about CPC UK, Mouser UK and Digikey UK. If people live in the UK they might not even go on the website thinking it was just USA. http://cpc.farnell.com/ http://uk.mouser.com/ http://www.digikey.co.uk/ Some others for UK. http://www.anglia.com/ http://www.arroweurope.com/...

Communication Protocols (Which one to use)

Thanks Kris I have only used the driver chips themselves as a way to transmit our own protocol. This multicast and slave thing you are on about, are they special modules/ICs? Thanks Adam

Communication Protocols (Which one to use)

Hi Steve I am guessing being only the physical layer you would have to give the controller a time stamp of when they could reply, otherwise they would all try to respond at the same time. Is that right? Adam

    A few beginners questions

I suppose the only other thing to try in case it's your charger is to charge some newer discharged batteries if you have any. If this works then I think the batteries might be dud. Adam

    A few beginners questions

Yes right Kris. Cheap Chinese batteries. I have seen this before. I was told it was due to the large population in China needing work. And the policy is if a job can be done by hand then they won't automate it and apparently that applies to battery manufacture also. Adam

    A few beginners questions

I think it might be the fact you left them in a discharged state for too long. I don't think memory effect is an issue in todays batteries as technology has improved some what. You might need to do a few charge discharge cycles to bring them back to life. Charging them at a higher rate could...

De-Morgans law / Nand gates.. I'm left a bit confused

I don't know if this is what you mean, gate functions like AND, OR, and NOT can be made from just NAND gates. A not gate is made by joining the two inputs of the NAND together (NOT NAND). AND is made by a NAND and a NOT NAND on the output. An OR is made by two NOT NAND gates on the input of a...

    A few beginners questions

How many times do you think you have you charged them in the time you have had them, once a week, once a month, everyday?. Are they fully discharged before each time you re-charge them? Edit: Have they been stored for long periods of time in a discharged state. Adam
