    Philips TV: no power.

NOT me. I magnified the image after Dan noticed it.. Looks like a Tantalum capacitor. You may be able to clean it carefully and see some numbers on it. That would give you the value. Or check the other Tantalums to see if they are all the same value. Martin

    Voltage Amplifier Stage (VAS) design

As far as I can tell, the kind members on this forum ARE helping you. They will NOT design it for you!! If you have questions, ask them. When you don't understand something, ask a question. DON'T sit there and wait for some miracle circuit designed by somebody else. Just my 2 pennies-worth Martin

    Identifying a resistor

Hi It does appear to be a resistor. And probably an Ohmite or Allen style carbon comp resistor. And also probably reads Green first. There are some similar the 'Bay' check the picture. But I cannot get any resistor calculator to co-operate o_O. Martin

Help with Near field communication technology

Hello jibin, You have THREE separate threads on NFC now. Each of them have links that you obviously have not read. YOU really need to study the subject and not just COPY what the kind members here tell you. I don't understand why you chose NFC for your seminar speech if you know ZERO about it...

old garage door opener circuit board

R3 definitely looks to have got hot. But that is it's job.. Post 8 top left, looks to be a marking paint/spray. Not a leaking cap. Post 8 bottom left bottom has the same colour on the bracket. I could be wrong, Martin

    Will a Toshiba satellite L750D-1GC screen fit a L750D - 14R?

Hi Gary, Without searching both machines, it is probably a safe bet that it will be fine. The L750 seems to have a 15.6" screen. Keep all of your screws and screen hinges as they can differ. Martin

Wiring buttons away from the PCB

Wiring buttons away from the PCB

Hi Tech, we got rid of your coat in your introduction. They do look like tactile switches and the fascia buttons would have 'mushroom' stem. You can do two things. Use a DMM on all connections and find out which connection is which! Or MY simple way, just extend all 4 connections via wire to the...

    Hi everyone

I second that...Us Brits get a rough time from 'down under' and 'across the pond' to name a few. You can take off the lab coat though. NOT needed here. Martin
