    Bright LED Recommendations

Sorry, I have never tried it. I do have a 3000,000 candle power torch though. Glad to see you have a good sense of humour too. Martin

    Bright LED Recommendations

Well, all you said was I found a 50,000 mcd. If you want to start again and explain what project, what kind of leds you are using now, what power source etc etc. Maybe someone will help you. BTW, the tie and helmet don't go!! one or the other!! Martin

    State of Charge LED indicator

Hi swu36, I can answer that!!! If you look at your circuit board, you will see 5 black three pinned components. Beside those components are a letter and number. U1, U2, U3 etc. They are called reference designators and describe what component should be placed there 'ish'. Q on a board normally...

    State of Charge LED indicator

That looks very neat. What software is that? It actually shows the direction and switching etc.

Playing a car audio system at home.

Hi Rakins, apart from following ADRT's advice, As a kid I made a headboard with swinging bed side tables for my bed. I had my CB radio and car Radio/cassette player all wired up. The Pioneer speakers were in the sides of the swinging side tables. I used the CB power pack/power supply and it...

    State of Charge LED indicator

    Probably something like 100% = 50.93, 90% = 50.47, 80% = 49.99, 70% = 49.49 etc. But not sure though Martin

    books

I jolly well hope not!! Typed 'the art of electronics' into Google and the 6th or 7th down was from some .edu site. It opened straight to a pdf. It is the 2nd edition if that makes a difference? Martin

    State of Charge LED indicator

Yep, totally makes sense now. I know an IC is made of many components like transistors. The ref designator U is for IC. I thought Q was for transistors. So, I guess U can be used for transistors too. Well, the best advice I gave was wait til morning for the experts. Martin

    Power amp fan trouble

This is the schematic that Peavey emailed to me. They have taken over Crest. Scroll down to your section that says Fan driver. Continue left and maybe down a little. It gives the Fan drivers and board location. I tried to copy that one page but it wouldn't paste here for some reason. Martin

    State of Charge LED indicator

Sad!!! Not exactly! The points you are checking is the input to the circuit board. The red and black are from the 48v battery. I was refering to a point that feeds the leds. I am useless with smd components, the names, codes can be anything. It does look like you have several regulators on the...

    State of Charge LED indicator

Yes, you need to know what voltage is going to your charge state circuit! If it's 12v, then it makes it easier. It could be a dedicated 5v circuit. Who knows! Can you post a link to the battery you have? And a pic of the circuit for the charge status? Like I said, I am out of my depth here but...

    State of Charge LED indicator

Prbably not! 48v to 12v is quite a jump. Have you checked how your 'soc' works on your battery? What circuit is there and what voltage it uses? I doubt the battery is running a circuit at 48v! to run a led charge status. Can you check this to confirm? And post what voltage the circuit requires...

    State of Charge LED indicator

Hi swu36, I am probably out of my depth here, but what 'soc' has your battery got? Is it working directly from 48v? There are some dedicated 'state of charge' ic's. I have never used one but the LM3914 is a 10 led or bargraph chip to do what you want. The caveat is, it's a 12v chip. Hence my...

Looking for schematic diagram/service manual of Toshiba Combi TV/DVD

Hi John, Oh that goes back to the 80s too. I had a girlfriend called Elaine. My best mate 'Irish' called me 'martaine ever since. It was a way we could talk about Elaine without my 'then' current girlfriend knowing. It's just something easy to remember. Nothing more and nothing less. Although my...
