    Apple vs the FBI

My phone is rooted, i use odin to flash it all the time, but if i removed the pin code check and flashed it, it would boot straight into android without asking for a pin..

    Your food (Mature/Adult viewing)

The baby male chickens, yup fluffy yellow chics are simply dropped from from a conveyer belt, still alive the chic is mashed up then the meat is extracted and mcnuggets are made! If you watched the video pigs get a prolong suffering... i agree with you they need to be more humane, but in these...

    Apple vs the FBI

If android had a pin code enabled, what prevents someone removing that protection and recompiling then flashing it? If possible, why is apple standing in the way? What is apple hiding?

    Your food (Mature/Adult viewing)

An interesting and powerful documentary, it's feature length and it covers a wide range of issues facing our planet, i gave up eating meat after watching it, i can't no longer be part of that suffering... Eitherway, i'm not trying to convince anyone if anything, i think it's time to see where...

How to supply 5v at higher current?

Lots of reasons, but anything that affects the output, be switching, inductors, hum, either way it's unwanted stray voltage... 1000uf per amp i read somewhere, but i think it's a little much

Why would you swap the s4 IR led with the S3? Has the s3 got an IR port?

    Trickle Charge Batteries

A couple of transistors and a sense resistor for current regulation? Cheaper and quicker if you buy an lm317/resistor Substitute the 10ohm resistor for a value that trickle charges your battery... i selected 10ohm as it sounded reasonable to charge your batteries, just provide the circuit a...

    What component is this?

Yeah you can just solder a 2w regular 1ohm resistor (3w to be safe)

    Trickle Charge Batteries

How simple? 4 x 1.2v = 4.8v Get an adjustable regulator, set 4.8v and stick a resistor on it to trickle charge.. I've never been too sure about charging cells in series, but i think nimh cells don't mind too much

How to supply 5v at higher current?

You can just filter the smp with a good capacitor for 5v supply, linear regulators will waste too much energy from a 12v source..

role of schottky in sw regs

Ok so the diodes job is to hold the left side to ground because it becomes negatively charged, and if the diode was not there? The left side would become neg charged but the right would still peak and the voltage would still pass through the diode, as the circuit emulator implies but the...

    Destroying USB devices

Ahh, fair enough, not that then! (Well, it shouldn't be!) monitoring the USB voltage might be the next step, any old usb cable, strip it down and measure the voltage across it while plugging whatever in/out and look for a voltage spike, might be tricky without a scope... a regular multi Meter...

role of schottky in sw regs

I'm still not entirely sure how a schottky diode helps a switching regulator? If the role of the diode is to collapse the magnetic field after the switch is opened, why would a sw/reg fail to operate without one?

    Destroying USB devices

This puzzles me as usb will have it's own regulated 5v rail from the laptop, again there will be a regulator printer side too... I just had a look at the maplin dc dc converter, it was designed to run on 12v and then steps it up to 19v (seems like you may be running it from 24v) That could be...

    Destroying USB devices

I would suggest a TVS diode across the output terminals of the switching regulator, but i'm not convinced it's the problem here
