    LED voltage and current question.

An LED tester? (A battery and a resistor?)

to short DC terminal by using 5 sec delay and when ac source apply

I was clarifying on what the op wanted.... A link to a relay triggered by 240ac?

to short DC terminal by using 5 sec delay and when ac source apply

A 240v relay to activate a low voltage circuit? (Usually it's low voltage dc allowing 240vac to flow) So circuit 1 activates, 5 seconds later, circuit 2 activates? Right or wrong?

    Oscillating pulse to stable

Feeding the output to a capacitor and then placing a small load like a resistor... this will slowly flat line but not instantly Depending on voltage, you could use a linear regulator after passing the 555 output to the capacitor 7805 for example from a 555 9v source

    What Is This

Maybe it only turns in one direction the rest is by hand? What is it anyway?

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

After some reading, that 1.2ohm fusible resistor looks good I just need a 400v npn power transistor now

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

Maybe but where's the fun in that :P Although, getting just the blown parts equals the price of a new 5v psu lol (the fun part still stands :) )

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

    Mystery deepens... It is a s8050! (20v max ???)

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

Ah and yes, obviously my brain was not located in my head today... It occured to me, what i thought might have been a 7805 is infact a S8050! a 500v cap it's on the hot side before the optoisolator! Duhhh (Edit) Ok stumped... again it reads something 8050 the s8050 is low voltage high...

Green black silver gold i think

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

Oops yes 240ac input (2amp out) When i get to the bench i'll take a closer look!

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

Since it reads 2 ohms, i will pass a 2amp load through it, it may have survived

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

Eitherway thanks for the info :)

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

What about a 2ohm resistor in series with a 2amp fuse then?
  15. C

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

The fuse reads 1ohm (well resistor lol) The power transistor is shorted 2 of the 4 diodes maintain a .6v drop The 7805 is pretty much dead, i can't be certain it is a 7805 all it reads is 805 the rest is destroyed to read from... Waiting on more diodes (expecting any day now)

    2amp 5v wallplug psu

I had a pretty mc driven addressable led strip going in the bathroom, the arduino board shorted across the hand rail (metal) And viola! The bridge rectifier diodes are gone, the 7805 (is the transistor looking one which blew) the power transistor is there as a pass transistor (unsure if it's...

    LED voltage and current question.

A regular edison bulb has a built in resistor which limits the power consumption, LEDs work on current, providing you meet the diode's foward voltage drop... But, unlike a bulb there's no balast to control the amount of current the LED take, it will take and take until it's destroyed

Is there something burned out here?

Sounds like it could have been a power surge but, the power supply would have to be effected as well.. Below the red power cable there's a 0ohm resistor, is it open?

    Normal cheap chinese glue...

Pulse-Flash Circuit to drive 300ma LED Beacon (miniaturized)

I've had a 555 fade in / fade out circuit running for 2 years solid now... So it's the conditions that matter the most (providing the chips run cool)
