    Smd resistor unbelievable

Thanks Edd This might help: When the infamous resistor went a leg on each of 2 transistors (see 2 red lines) got desoldered. Edd, the resistor R83 sits close to cap C20 on the top view. R83 looks like one side connected to one leg of Q21 and the other side to R82. I cannot read anything on R83

Lol. It sure does not look like that! There are similiarities, but my schematic does not talk to the pcb here

    Circuit with piranha leds

Look, we've pretty much got the blind leading the blind here, but as long as you get your mind about this bit from the link I posted, you'll be fine: "LEDs are inherently unstable when operated from a voltage source. The answer is to operate them from a current source as the manufacturers...

    Circuit with piranha leds

This helped me to get my head around LED's. Prior to reading this I was getting quite good at making the magic smoke appear: https://www.electronicspoint.com/resources/got-a-question-about-driving-leds.5/

    Smd resistor unbelievable

I have got a burnt resistor that needs replacing. Schematic says 300Ω 5W. As far as I can tell this is an 0603 type smd. (0603 type 1.6x0.8mm) Can't find any resistors 300Ω 5W in a 0603 package. Does such an animal exist? I have difficulty believing that something that small can handle 5W...

    Solar powered power brick

Ugh! Sun out now. Even pointing the solar panel aligned at the sun I only get 50mA. Looks like I bought a pig in a poke

    Solar powered power brick

I haven't been able to find a similiarly sized panel with a higher charging rate so might go for something like this which should kick butt. https://www.banggood.com/Universial-5V-5W-USB-Solar-Energy-Panel-Charger-For-Tablet-Cellphone-p-1139819.html?rmmds=search

Overcast day here. Stuck my DMM in the line from solar panel to pcb. Getting 5V but only 8mA. Rubbish solar panel?

    Solar powered power brick

Hmmmm. I'm going to unsolder one lead from solar panel and stick an ammeter in there and see what it gives. Thanks for the heads up @debe

    Solar powered power brick

Got this brick fairly recently. Noticed on overlanding trip that brick was not charging via sunlight. Charge it from my cellphone charger and charges up fine. But I can leave it sitting in the sun for days and state of charge does not change. Can be seen by 4 blue LED's that light up when fully...
